‘Getting Our Focus Right.’
a) 1 John 2:15-16. We are not to love the World system which is centred on lust and pride.
b) 2 Timothy 2:4. If we want to please God we should not get entangled with the affairs of this life.
c) Colossians 3:2. We are to set our affections on the things that are above.
d) Hebrews 12:2. We should keep looking to Jesus.

‘We Should Not Let Discouragement Be Our Friend.’
a) Deuteronomy 1:28. We sometimes get confused through the discouragement from other people.
b) Numbers 21:4-5. Discouraged people talk against God and their leaders.
c) Galatians 6:9. Let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up.
d) Proverbs 13:12. Do not give in to deferred Hope.
e) 1 Corinthians 11:1. Look into the life of Apostle Paul.
f) Philippians 1:21. We need to remember that to live is Christ and to die is gain. There is no room for self pity.
g) 1 Corinthians 10:10; Philippians 2:14. If we start to murmur we open ourselves up for all kinds of difficulties unnecessarily.

Confusion may come to us from all kinds of sources. Some people have emotional sickness and that sickness can make them very confused. Some people are confused because their environment is not what they expect. Yet other people get confused by the life and words of people around them or people that they meet. God wants to help us be free from confusion.
