‘Honour Christ In Our Hearts.’
1 Peter 3:13-17.
Here Apostle Peter teaches us about handling personally times of personal persecution – his teaching is so practical – and it is the Word of God.
a) 1 Peter 3:13. Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? (It may hurt us but it cannot harm us in Christ – we have Eternal Life.
b) 1 Peter 3:14. Even if we suffer for Righteousness sake:-
1- We will be Blessed.
2- We are to have no fear of them.
3- Do not be troubled.
c) 1 Peter 3:15. Honour Christ as Holy in our hearts.
d) 1 Peter 3:15. Always be prepared to make a defence to anyone who asks us for a reason for the Hope that is in us; yet do it with gentleness and respect.
e) 1 Peter 3:16. Have a good conscience, so that when we are slandered, those who revile our good behaviour in Christ may be put to shame.
f) 1 Peter 3:17. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.
(Through this Second one I see the importance of being able to Honour Christ In My Heart even when facing difficult times)
