Chris.
Love is not selfish – it does not seek its own. A loving person will be a generous person even though they do not have much because Love does not seek its own. When people only look after themselves and do not consider other people, although they may talk about Love – they do not know it or do it.

e) 1 John 2:17. The World system and its lusts are passing away.
f) 1 John 2:17. The person who does the Will of God lives forever.
(This Second one reminds me to do the Will of God rather than exist in the World System)
------
Chris.
God’s Word is a clear guideline for our lives. We find in it how we can come to God. We find in it how to live the right kind of life as a Believer in Jesus Christ. We find in it the way to live in victory over the World system. Let us treasure and love God’s Word.

Chris.
Through the Word of God and the Holy Spirit every True Believer needs Renewal of the Thinking Mind. This cannot be done in a worldly way, nor is it the power of positive thinking, it is the Sovereign work of God’s Grace as we expose ourselves to the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.

(Through this QT I revere The God Of Peace)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
‘Enter The Narrow Gate And Live.’
Matthew 7:13-14.
a) Although the gateway to God and the New Life in Christ is narrow – we can all still get in.
b) The gate and way that leads to destruction is very broad.
c) There are many people who are on the broad way.
d) The narrow gate and the narrow way lead to Life, but there are few people who find it.
(This Second one firstly makes me thankful to God that I have been privileged to Enter The Narrow Gate And Live. Secondly, why are we so infatuated with numbers? True Believers will always be a minority on the Earth)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
The God of Peace definitely desires to be with all True Believers. If we do not experience or know Him then that is our loss. If we Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and confess Him as such, we will come to the realisation that the God of Peace is with us.

God has promised to meet our needs and if we live a humble and stable life as a Bible Believing Christian, following the revealed Will of God, then we should also be able to trust God in material matters too.

Divorce!

‘Divorce.’
a) Matthew 5:32; Mark 10:11; Luke 16:18. Is something that Jesus really discouraged.

----
Chris.
In these days I meet many divorced women in the Churches. Some of them have happily remarried, some of them remarried into another difficult marriage and others remain single. Of this I am sure that the Church should be caring for these women as a specific ministry that is really going to help them until they can stand in a good further marriage.

c) The way in which we look at the opposite sex with our eyes is very important. It should not be in lust.
(Through this Second one I am exhorted and I share with my Brothers – Keep Free)
---
Chris.
Reputation is a thing we should guard. The Bible tells us in several places that a good reputation is important. There are times when gossips attempt to destroy the reputation of someone they do not like, this even happens sometimes in churches, God knows all things and He can vindicate the innocent people in such circumstances. Let us maintain a good reputation.

c) Jesus said that whoever verbally abused his brother would be tried by the Jewish legal council.
d) If we call other people fools – we are in danger of Hell.
(This strong Teaching of Jesus Christ reminds me through this Second one that I am not to keep negative things about other people in my heart at all, but rather, I should Calm Down And Let It Go)
----------------------
Chris.
It is our choice, are we going to fellowship with Wise People or with wicked people? Fate does not determine this – we are free to choose right friends and relationships. Fellowship is an important part of our lives- let us choose the right way to do it.

Do Not Take Disobedience To God Lightly!

Do Not Take Disobedience To God Lightly.’
a) Hebrews 10:28. Proven disobedience to the Word of God for Jewish people meant that they were shown no mercy and executed.
b) Deuteronomy 13:8. When meeting with people in disobedience to God. We should not:-
1- Be influenced by them.
2- Listen to their reasoning.
3- Deuteronomy 19:13. Have pity on them.
4- Feel sorry for them.
5- Protect them.
c) Deuteronomy 17:6; 19:15. There had to be more than one witness for any punishment to be given. A witness was a witness and not a gossip.
(This QT warns me: Do Not Take Disobedience To God Lightly)
--------------------------
‘Let Our Lights Shine.’
Matthew 5:14-16.
a) Matthew 5:14. We are lights for the World – like cities on a hill.
b) Matthew 5:15. We never hide a light but put it on a lamp stand.
c) Matthew 5:15. We are supposed to be light first to everyone in the house. (Those people who are closest to us)
d) Matthew 5:16. Our lights shine through our good works that Glorify God.
(Through this Second one I want to Let My Light Shine)
--------------------------
Chris.
We are lights for the World, like cities on a hill. If we a travelling in a vehicle across a plain at night and there is a hill in the distance, if there are any cities on that hill they can be clearly seen by a glow of light, even at a distance! This is how our lives should be as True Believers. We are supposed to be like cities on a hill at night time.

Church Troublemakers!

‘Church Troublemakers.’
Romans 16:17-18.
a) The Church urgently needs to keep their eyes on these people.
b) They cause people to be against each other.
c) They upset other peoples’ Faith.
d) They are against True Teaching of God’s Word.
e) The Church generally should stay away from them and let leadership handle them.
f) They are not serving the Lord Jesus Christ.
g) They are only serving themselves.
h) They use smooth and flattering speech.
i) They deceive the minds of innocent people.
(This QT helps me to discern Church Troublemakers)
-------------------------
‘Compassion Is For Now.’
a) Hebrews 13:3. The people in prison and the suffering people need to be remembered by the Church.
b) 1 Thessalonians 5:11. We are to encourage each other and build one another up.
c) Psalm 95:7. God takes care of us, we are to listen to Him and follow His example.
(This Second one reminds me that Compassion Is For Now)
-------------------------
Chris.
The people in prison and suffering people are people that God exhorts the Church to help. Other religions and secular societies are often more ready to help the prisoner and the sufferer than the Church is. Let us consider the Words of Jesus about needy people and be challenged by them.

Do Not Bring Trouble!

‘Do Not Bring Trouble.’
a) Proverbs 11:29. To our own house, we will inherit only the wind if we do.
b) Genesis 34:30. By causing our house to have a bad reputation.
c) Joshua 7:24-25. On our own people, if we do, God permits us to be severely punished.
d) Habakkuk 2:9-10. Through evil gain, if we do we will face calamity.
(Through this QT I am clearly warned: Do Not Bring Trouble)
------------------------
‘For The Lord Gives.’
a) Proverbs 2:6. He Gives:-
1- Wisdom.
2- Knowledge.
3- Understanding.
b) Proverbs 3:26. Confidence.
c) Psalm 119:98. His Commandments to make us Wise.
d) 1 Timothy 4:14. Spiritual Gifts.
e) Psalm 92:12. A flourishing life to the Righteous person.
f) 2 Corinthians 5:17. New Creation Life.
g) Titus 3:5. He Gives:-
1- Mercy.
2- The Washing of Regeneration.
3- Renewing by the Holy Spirit.
(For The Lord Gives! I thank God for everything He Gives me)
------------------------
Chris.
Spiritual Gifts are God’s Gifts to us. They can be desired, Paul tells us in Corinthians, that God will be Glorified in the Church. God is the distributor of the Gifts and it is the Holy Spirit within us that brings those Gifts into operation. Spiritual Gifts do not make us “special” – rather God is special and should be Glorified through their use. If “spiritual gifts” are being misused, this is not the Holy Spirit but fleshly and maybe demonic.

Trust In The Lord!

‘Trust In The Lord.’
a) John 10:10. He gives Life in abundance.
b) John 14:6. He is:-
1- The Way.
2- The Truth.
3- The Life.
4- The only and exclusive access to Father God.
c) John 5:39. The Scriptures speak about Him.
d) Matthew 4:4. We need every Word that He speaks.
(This QT reminds me to Trust In The Lord)
----------------------------------------
‘There Is No True Gain.’
a) Luke 9:25. If we are eternally lost.
b) Luke 12:15. Watch out and guard yourselves from every kind of greed; because your true life is not made up of the things you own, no matter how rich you may be.
c) Luke 12:20-21. In storing things up for ourselves.
d) Proverbs 3:13-18. Without Wisdom.
e) Ephesians 5:15-16. Without being careful how we live and making the most of our time on the Earth.
f) James 4:13-14. If we are planning selfishly.
(Through this Second one I understand the tragedy when There Is No True Gain)
----------------------------------------
Chris.
Some people are hoarders, storing up things for themselves. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, it can be fear of having nothing. God’s perfect Love can take that fear away. Secondly, it can be the result of a period of enforced poverty like wartime. God wants to heal us from that. Thirdly, it may be greed. God wants to set us free from that. Fourthly, it may be as a result of mental sickness. God wants to help us get out of the pattern. Let us not be hoarders.

Greetings!

‘Greetings.’
Romans 16:13-16.
a) Romans 16:13-15. Greetings from the man of God.
b) Romans 16:16. The Body of Christ should greet each other.
c) Romans 16:16. The Churches as a Body of Christ should greet other Churches too.
(Through this QT I realise the simple significance of Greetings)
-----------------------
‘Whatever We Sow We Will Reap.’
a) Galatians 6:7-8; Matthew 4:4. It is a clear and unavoidable Truth of Scripture, either to the flesh or too the Holy Spirit.
b) Job 4:8. If we sow iniquity and trouble we reap the same.
c) Galatians 5:19-23. The principle repeated.
d) Hosea 10:12. The way to sow Righteousness for ourselves.
e) Luke 12:15. We must beware of covetousness.
f) Ecclesiastes 2:17-23. We do not work just for ourselves.
(This Second one clearly reminds me that Whatever I Sow I Will Reap)
-----------------------
Chris
The Body of Christ should greet each other. Fellowship in Church is very important. Good Fellowship can start with simple but genuine greetings. When Church fails to greet each other and also fails to greet newcomers – then Church fails.

e) Isaiah 66:14. When our hearts rejoice our bodies will be.
f) Ezekiel 17:24. God makes the dry tree.

(Through this QT I desire to be Flourishing for God’s Glory)
----------------------
‘How Elders Should Serve.’
1 Peter 5:1-2.

b) Exercise oversight willingly.
c) Serve as God would have them do it.
d) With eager motive and not financial motive.
e) 2 Peter 1:13-15. With lasting influence in a positive way.
(This Second reminds me How Elders Should Serve)
-----------------------
Chris.
People planted in the House of the Lord will be flourishing. The Church is the home of True Believers and the House of the Lord is not only the physical building of the Church but also the people – the Household of God - the Family of God. For those people who need to serve some para church mission or organisation, it should be done from the Spiritual “home” – the Church, then in their lives and ministries they will flourish.

b) Revelation 22:21. Include our receiving Grace.

f) 2 Timothy 2:1. Include our being strong in the Grace that is in Christ Jesus.

1- Fight the good fight.
2- Finish the race.
3- Remain Faithful.
(Through this Second one I learn more about Getting Older With God)
----------------------
Chris.
We should continue to serve the Lord as we get older but we need to do it with the purest of motives, not just clinging on to our identity as His servants. In aging our ministry may change in some ways, but our personal devotional time with God remains as a core part of our life. Let us finish the race well.

1- Always.
2- Having all sufficiency.
3- In everything.
c) We may have an abundance for every good deed.
(This Second one encourages me, God Is Able)
--------------------
Chris.
Those people who do the Work of the Lord in the Church and for the Mission should be respected by the Church. The Lord’s Work is supposed to be work. We find the pattern in the early Church, both men and women worked so hard. If people have this kind of commitment as True Believers, whatever their position or title, we should respect them.

(This Second one affirms my belief and hope in A Never Ending Kingdom – God’s Kingdom)
----------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
God’s Kingdom is something that He has Created and that He will, in the future, continue to Create. All True Believers now should be living in the present Kingdom of God, which Romans tells us is Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit. Also all True Believers look forward to the future reality of a physical Kingdom of God.

d) Ephesians 2:11. We have a past but now we are Redeemed from that and have New Life in Christ.
(Through this Second one I am delighted to experience The Reality Of Salvation)
-------------------
Chris.
We are not saved by good works. As those people who are saved by Grace through Faith, God has prepared works to do within what He calls His Will for us. Good works are supposed to be very much a part of the life of the True Believer – but we are not saved by them.

---------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
Our communications with one another are important. We live in days of SM Sand hand phones, these are really convenient but sometimes they can cause hurt. We need to be able to have polite and meaningful communications with each other in the Body of Christ. Let us not hurt and abuse others with careless communication.

God does not want us to suffer want. I remember an evangelist from India that I respected very much told me many years ago that in the area of India where he lived, although the people were so poor at that time, the Believers always had enough. As we are Faithful to the Lord and to His Word surely He will take care of us.

Chris.
The Call of God to us is upward in several ways. Firstly, it is an Eternal Calling and a Heavenly one. Secondly, it is a calling to a new standard of life and Freedom in Jesus Christ. Thirdly, it is a calling to Holiness and all that the Holy Life entails.

-----------------
‘New Testament Bible Teaching Pattern.’
a) Acts 17:2-3. This was Apostle Paul’s custom:-
1- He went to the synagogue service. (Being open rather than “underground”)
2- He used the Scriptures to reason with the people.
3- He explained the prophecies of the Old Testament.
4- He proved the Messiah must suffer and rise from the dead.
5- He said that Jesus is the Messiah.
b) Acts 18:27-28. Apollos:-
1- Wanted to go to teach and serve in Achaia.
2- The Brothers and Sisters in Ephesus encouraged him to go.
3- The Ephesian Church prepared the way for Apollos by writing a letter. (He did not go without a way being made)
4- When Apollos arrived, he greatly helped those who through grace had believed.
5- Apollos powerfully refuted the Jews in public. (He did not talk about them behind their backs)
6- He showed by the Scriptures that the Christ was Jesus.
c) Isaiah 1:1. Both Jesus and the Apostles taught from the Book of Isaiah.
(Through this Second one I find a New Testament Bible Teaching Pattern)
-----------------
Chris.
The True Believers in the days of the New Testament were simply taught the Truths of the Scripture. What has happened today? Authors are trying to capitalise on Christianity by introducing all kinds of “fringe” teaching that is not Biblical and writing books and theories about these teachings. These teachings often make a big sell because they fascinate weak Believers and often cause conflict and problems within the Churches.

(This Second one calls me to be Choosing God’s Way)

Chris.
I am always wary of people in Churches who share “their testimonies”. Jacob could have talked about his amazing encounter with God for years, but it had made no real impact on his life until he obeyed the reality of it. Even his family began to compromise with other gods! He was beginning to live the life of a back slider. We are to thank God for His Word and His Spirit, these draw us back into obedience and fellowship with Him.

Christian Workers should manifest the fruit of being in Christ. Their lives should be a fragrance to other people. Christian workers serve, it means they work hard at serving the Lord and people. Christian workers do not just look after themselves, they should have a vision for the place where they dwell.

‘When Facing A Difficult Time From Other People.’
1 Peter 4:12-14.
a) 1 Peter 4:12. Do not be surprised by the hard trouble like fire that comes to test you. Do not think some new thing is happening to you.
b) 1 Peter 4:13. Be glad when you suffer as Christ did. Then you will also be very glad when He comes and you see how great He is.
c) 1 Peter 4:14. Do men say wrong things about you because you are a Christian? Then you are blessed because the wonderful Spirit, the Spirit of God, is with you.
(This Second one reminds me how I should respond When Facing A Difficult Time From Other People)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
Tamar was a very beautiful woman but her life was violated by a very evil cousin. Sometimes beautiful women suffer because of their beauty. If we have beautiful women in our churches and families we should care for them and look after them well. Their lives, and the lives of children are probably the most vulnerable in the church and in society today.

Here Apostle Peter teaches us about handling personally times of personal persecution – his teaching is so practical – and it is the Word of God.

d) 1 Peter 3:15. Always be prepared to make a defence to anyone who asks us for a reason for the Hope that is in us; yet do it with gentleness and respect.
e) 1 Peter 3:16. Have a good conscience, so that when we are slandered, those who revile our good behaviour in Christ may be put to shame.
f) 1 Peter 3:17. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.
(Through this Second one I see the importance of being able to Honour Christ In My Heart even when facing difficult times)
------------
Chris.
Honouring Christ as Holy in our hearts is a great stabiliser for us. Sometimes when we are hurt and angry we “let our hearts go”. This always increases our difficulty and can cause us emotional exhaustion. Proverbs tells us to guard our hearts, surely this is wise advice.

(This Second one helps me to realise what I need to do If I Want To Enjoy Life)
-----------
Chris.
We need to stand! This is a very clear Scriptural injunction to all Believers. In our Faith Life, through the Grace of God, we can stand Firm. When facing persecution and some kind of satanic attack, by the Grace of God, the Bible tells us to stand firm. When we are experiencing some kind of emotional earthquake, because we are rooted in Jesus Christ, we can stand firm.

Jesus Around The Table With Peter And Judas Iscariot!

‘Jesus Around The Table With Peter And Judas Iscariot.’
John 13:1-11.
a) John 13:1. Jesus’ hour was coming to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the World, He loved them to the end. It was the season for the Feast of the Passover.
b) John 13:2. During the supper the Devil had put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot to betray Jesus.
c) John 13:3. Jesus is omniscient and He was at that supper. Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going back to God.
d) John 13:4. Jesus, at that supper prepared Himself to serve His Disciples in the most humble way, even though He knew all things.
e) John 13:5. Then He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around Him.
f) John 13:6. Simon Peter questioned what Jesus was doing. (Do we sometimes question what Jesus is doing instead of simply accepting His Will?)
g) John 13:7. Jesus answered him, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand." (We do not always understand what the Lord is doing, but we need to Trust Him)
h) John 13:8. When Peter refused the washing of his feet the Words of Jesus were very strong – then you have no part with Me. We really need to accept the Hand and Works of the Lord in and on our lives.
i) John 13:9. Peter changed his mind.
j) John 13:10-11. Jesus told His Disciples that they were clean BUT not all of them. He was referring to Judas Iscariot and not Peter. (If we make mistakes in our responses to Jesus like Peter did we need to come to Jesus for forgiveness and cleansing)
(Through this QT, Jesus Around The Table With Peter And Judas Iscariot, I learn so much)
--------
‘Show Humility.’
1 Peter 5:5-7
a) 1 Peter 5:5. Through younger people submitting to their elders:-
1- In Home.
2- In Nation.
3- In Church.
b) 1 Peter 5:5. Through all of us being submissive to one another and clothed with humility.
c) 1 Peter 5:5. God resists the proud people but gives Grace to humble people.
d) 1 Peter 5:6. Therefore we should humble ourselves under the mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt us in due time.
e) 1 Peter 5:7. It is humble to cast all of our cares upon Him because God cares for us. (True Faith is manifested in Humility)
(Through this Second one I am challenged to Show Humility)
--------
Chris.
Younger people should learn submission to their elders. Submission to elders does not always come easily because rebellion is in the heart of fallen man. The religion and politics of self are prevalent in the World system today but God encourages us as True Believers to think another way. Think with humility, think with a willingness to submit and think of the social good – especially of the Gospel of Christ.

d) 1 Timothy 5:5. Means that we are prayerful.
(This Second one reminds me to always Hope In God)
--------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
We should be emulating the Apostles in that our ministries are centred upon the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Head of the Church so, as the Living Head, He still imparts life, direction and instruction into His Church by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
