The Lord Tests Our Hearts!


‘The Lord Tests Our Hearts.’
Proverbs 27:21.
a) Proverbs 17:3. The crucible is for silver.
b) Proverbs 17:3. The furnace is for gold.
c) Proverbs 17:3. The Lord is the Tester of hearts.
d) Each person is tested by the praise given to them.
e) Luke 6:26. We should not take it to our hearts at all when people speak well of us.

‘The Things Not Seen.’
a) Hebrews 11:1. Assurance of the things we cannot see comes from Faith.
b) 2 Corinthians 4:18. We focus on what is unseen because what is unseen is eternal.
c) Romans 8:24. We are Saved by Hope that is yet unseen.
d) 2 Corinthians 5:7. We walk by Faith and not by sight.
e) Hebrews 11:7. Noah was warned about things that were not yet seen.
f) Hebrews 11:27. Moses persevered as one who sees God even though God is invisible.

The Lord is the Tester of hearts. There are many ways in which the Lord may test our hearts. The choice is not ours, it is His. He knows just how to test us the best way for our benefit and His Glory. Here the writer mentions about the test that comes when we receive praise from other people. At such times our immediate response should be giving the Glory to God and thanking God, not taking any praise for ourselves.
