Friends, Neighbours, Brothers And Fathers!


‘Friends, Neighbours, Brothers And Fathers.’
Proverbs 27:9-11.
a) Proverbs 27:9. The heartfelt and good counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense.
b) Proverbs 27:10. Never abandon a real friend, either a personal one or a family one.
c) Proverbs 27:10. If we have friends where we are then, when disaster strikes we will not have to ask our brother for assistance.
d) Proverbs 27:10. It is better to go to a neighbour than a brother who lives far away.
e) Proverbs 27:11. Be wise and make our father’s heart glad.
f) Proverbs 27:11. Then our father will be able to answer all of his critics.
(This QT gives me practical sense to share with Friends, Neighbours, Brothers And Fathers)

‘Our New Life In Christ.’
a) Romans 6:2. We do not want to live in sin any more.
b) 2 Corinthians 5:14-17. Begins because Christ’s Love controls us.
c) 1 Peter 1:14. Is lived out as an obedient Child of God.
d) 1 Peter 4:2. Is wanting to do God’s Will.
(This Second one reminds me of some of the principles of My New Life In Christ)

Having friends where we are should be a part of our normal Christian Life. This kind of friendship can first of all mean our brothers and sisters in the Lord with whom we share Fellowship as True Believers. Secondly, through our work, study or neighbourhood life we may have friends and neighbours who do not know the Lord at all. We have the privilege of thoughtfully living as True Believers before them and being a friend to them too.
