Genesis 31:43.
a) Laban said to Jacob:
b) "The daughters are my daughters,
c) "The children are my children,
d) "The flocks are my flocks,
e) "And all that you see is mine.
f) "But what can I do this day for these my daughters,
g) "Or to their children whom they have borne?"

PRAYER: For Grace for The Painful Truth To Be Faced.

Psalm 31:15.
a) My times are in Your Hand
b) Rescue me from the hand of my enemies
c) And from my persecutors.
(Through this Second one I acknowledge that Our Times Are In God's Hands)

Laban had to tell Jacob that all that Jacob had really belonged to himself (Laban). This was a clear reminder to Jacob, lest he became proud. All that Jacob had belonged to Laban. There are different times in which the Lord wants us humbly to take account of our lives, lest we become proud. All that we possess is really given to us by the Lord, and He wants us to be good 'stewards' of it.
We should be thinking like this: "Am I a good steward of what God has given to me?"
