God Is Jealous For His Glory!


'God Is Jealous For His Glory.'
Isaiah 48:9-11.
a)  Isaiah 48:9. For the sake of His Name God restrained His anger.
b)  Isaiah 48:9. For the sake of His Renown and Praise He held His anger back from His People.
c)  Isaiah 48:9; 1 Samuel 12:22; Nehemiah 9:31. God did not want to destroy His People completely.
d)  Isaiah 48:10. God refined His People but not like the refining of silver.
e)  Isaiah 48:10; 1 Kings 8:51. God tested His People in the furnace of affliction.
f)  Isaiah 48:11. God did this for His Own sake.
g)  Isaiah 48:11; Ezekiel 20:9. God did not want His Name and His Fame to be defamed and profaned.
h)  Isaiah 48:11. God will not give His Glory to another.

c)  He accused the authorities of wanting to hush up the error.
d)  Paul insisted that the authorities came themselves to escort Silas and himself out of the prison.

God sometimes considers His Own Renown and Praise before He makes a decision. As at this time, He held His Anger back from His People. Even God acts within the boundaries of His Word. What a wonderful example to us! We should always act within the boundaries of His Word.
