Time To Glean!


'Time To Glean.'
a)  Ruth 2:3. Ruth was allowed to glean the harvest. (Glean = Harvesting the harvest bits left over by the harvesters)
b)  Ruth 2:7. She had asked permission to do this.
c)  Ruth 2:8 & 15. She did it by Boaz' invitation. 
d)  Ruth 2:19. It was hard work. 
e)  Ruth 2:23. It was effectively carried out as a group.
f)  Job 24:6. We should not glean in the vineyards of the wicked people. 
g)  Jeremiah 6:9. The Lord said that Israel needed to be gleaned. 
(This QT reminds me that, in every Church, in every place, there is a Time To Glean, it purifies the Church)

'Do We Love Jesus?'
John 21:17. 
a)  Three times Jesus asked Peter this question.
b)  Peter was hurt by Jesus' persistent asking. 
c)  It was a challenging question. 
d)  Peter replied that he believed that the Lord knew that He loved Him.
e)  Jesus told Peter to feed His Sheep.
(This Second one also challenges me: Do I Love Jesus?)

Gleaning was and is effectively carried out as a group. To glean is to purify, to make sure that all the harvest is cleaned up. Gleaning is done at a busy place where the work of harvesting is done. Even the most active and zealous of Churches needs to be gleaned well before, with the Gospel, it can glean the local community around the Church. Gleaning is a sign of life, preparing for the next harvest.
