Where Is Our Confidence?

‘Where Is Our Confidence?
Isaiah 36:4.
a)       The Rabshekah was challenging God’s People and their King Hezekiah.
b)       He spoke about The great Syrian King Sennacherib.
c)        The Rabshekah was trying to shake the confidence of King Hezekiah and God’s People.
(This QT causes me to check it out: Where Is My Confidence?)
----------
‘Be Led By The Holy Spirit.’
Galatians 5:18.
a)       We should choose to be led by the Holy Spirit.
b)       It does not just ‘happen’ to us – we need to make the choice.
c)        When we make and live in this choice, we are not under Law.
(This Second one calls me to Be Led By The Holy Spirit?)
----------
Chris.
There are times that aggressive non-believers will try to shake our confidence in God or in our Life and Existence as True Believers. We need to remember that Our confidence is in an unchanging God and on His Word the Bible. The Holy Spirit is God’s Guarantee in our hearts. Let us keep our confidence in God and keep on following His Plan for our lives.

The Things That The Lord Wants Of Us!

‘The Things That The Lord Wants Of Us.’
Micah 6:8.
a)      The Lord has made it plain to us what is good.
b)       He has told us what to do and what He is looking for in us.
c)        Towards other people He wants us to be:-
1-       Fair.
2-      Just.
3-      Right.
d)       We should be:-
1-       Compassionate.
2-      Loyal.
3-      Kind.
e)        We should live humbly.
f)        We should obey our God.
(This Second one shows me The Things The Lord Wants Me To Do)
-------
‘Blessings From The Lord God Almighty.’
Malachi 3:10-12.
a)       Malachi 3:10. If we obey the Lord Almighty then He will open the windows of Heaven for us and pour out all the Blessings we need.
b)      Malachi 3:11. If we obey the Lord Almighty then He will stop the insects so that they will not eat the crops and the grapes will not fall from the vines before they are ready to pick.
c)        Malachi 3:12. All the other nations will call you “Blessed” because you have such a pleasant country. This is the statement of the Lord Almighty.
(Through this Second one I find Blessings From The Lord God Almighty)
-------
Chris.
Obedience to the Lord is not just some kind of legalistic and religious thing that we must do. Obedience to the Lord is closely twinned with the Blessing of the Lord. When we live in the Blessing of the Lord then our lives are a Testimony of the Goodness of the Lord in front of other people. This Loving Scripture from the Lord should cause people to come to Him or to come closer to Him.

A Sure Word!

‘A Sure Word.’
2 Peter 1:19.
a)       This Word is a Prophetic Word.
b)       Psalm 119:105. It is a Sure Word.
c)        We do well to pay attention to this Word.
d)       This Word is a Lamp that shines in a dark place.
e)       2 Corinthians 4:6. This Light will shine until the day dawns and the Morning Star arises in our hearts.
(In this QT I find A Sure Word)
------
‘God’s Blessing On Our Food Before We Eat It.’
Deuteronomy 28:5.
a)       God’s Blessing.
b)       On our basket.
c)        On our bread kneading bowl.
(This Second one teaches me about God’s Blessing On Our Food Before We Eat It)
------
Chris.
Now the Light has shone into our hearts it will never go out. The Light is a manifestation of the Eternal God in our lives. This Light convinces me of the Faithfulness and Love of God. When we read references in the Scripture of members of the Triune God being Light we should always pay attention to them and realise that this is a Manifestation of God.

Facing The Accuser!

‘’Facing The Accuser.’
Isaiah 36:4.
a)       These were the words of the accusing Rabshekah.
b)       He humiliated Hezekiah by calling him by His Name and not using his title.
c)        He called the King of Assyria “the Great King”.
d)       His question: What makes you so confident? He was accusing God’s People, trying to make them afraid,
(This QT reminds me that sometimes we have to be Facing The Accuser)
-----
‘The Place That The Lord Our God Wants Us To Be At.
Deuteronomy 14:24-27.
a)       Deuteronomy 14:24. It may be a place very far away that we need to go to Worship Him at. God may have Blessed us so much. We cannot go because we have so much.
b)       Deuteronomy 14:25. This offering is important, sell 10% and go with the other people with the silver to Worship.
c)        Deuteronomy 14:26. When you get there, with the silver buy your offerings.
d)       Deuteronomy 14:27. Do not forget to look after the Levites well. They have no property of land.
(This Second one teaches me of the importance of The Place That The Lord My God Wants Me To Be At)
-----
Chris.
God has a perfect plan for all of our lives. It is His Place for us. He was very careful to tell His people not to fail to get there, even if it meant them selling some of what they owned. This was just a temporary situation. They were going to come back again. Sometimes we face such situations in permanent or semi-permanent moves. We need Wisdom from God what to do and how to do it.

A Reasonable Act Of Worship!

‘A Reasonable Act Of Worship’
Romans 12:1.
a)       This is an appeal from Apostle Paul to the Church at Rome.
b)       By the Mercies of God.
c)        To present your bodies as a living Sacrifice.
d)       A Sacrifice that is Holy and acceptable to God.
e)        This is a reasonable act of Worship.
(This QT shows me A Reasonable Act Of Worship)
--------
‘Old Testament Tithes Had A Purpose.’
Numbers 18:21.
a)       God was giving the Levites all the tithes of Israel.
b)       This was their pay.
c)        For the work they did in the Tent of Meeting.
(This Second one teaches me that Old Testament Tithes Had A Purpose)
--------
Chris.

Reasonable Acts of Worship are important. We often think of Worship as a Words and Music thing but actually it is much more than that. Our lives should be lives of Worship. The primary and largest part of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in our lives are the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. This fruit is about being and doing. It also causes us to Worship the Lord with our lives.

The Glorious Majestic Voice!

‘The Glorious Majestic Voice.’
2 Peter 1:16-18.
a)       2 Peter 1:16. We were not telling you fairy tales when we explained to you.
b)       2 Peter 1:16. The Power of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Coming again.
c)        2 Peter 1:16. Peter’s own eyes saw His Splendour and Glory.
d)       2 Peter 1:17. Peter was there on the Mountain with the Lord when He shone out with Honour and Glory given to Him by God the Father.
e)        2 Peter 1:18. Peter heard that Glorious Majestic Voice calling down from Heaven saying about the Lord being the Father’s much Beloved Son, and that the Father was well pleased with Him.
(This QT reveals to me The Glorious Majestic Voice of Father God)
-------
‘Giving As Worship.’
Leviticus 27:30-33.
a)       Leviticus 27:30. A tenth of the produce of the land, whether grain or fruit, is the Lord’s, and is Holy.
b)       Leviticus 27:31.  If anyone wants to buy back this fruit or grain, he must add a fifth to its value.
c)        Leviticus 27:32. The Lord owns every tenth animal of your herds and flocks and other domestic animals, as they pass by for counting.
d)       Leviticus 27:33. The tenth given to the Lord should simply be freely given. It should not be calculated giving. Just simply give as the Lord says. If we calculate our giving and sort our giving according to our own will, then everything belongs to the Lord. (This teaches me that True Worship belongs to the Lord)
(This Second one gives me understanding of Giving As Worship)
-------
Chris.
The great majority of True Believers I meet are also True Worshippers. They know the full meaning of Worship that it touches every part of our lives. Worship is a very important part of Church Activity and those people whom God has called to lead us in Worship, whatever kind of Worship it is, need the Prayers and Encouragement of the Lord and the Church.

In Charge!

‘In Charge.’
a)       Isaiah 36:3; 37:2. Of the Palace.
b)       Jeremiah 28:14. Of the wild animals.
c)        Jeremiah 29:26; 35:4; Numbers 3:32. Of God’s Temple.
d)       Jeremiah 40:7. Of the poor people.
e)        Jeremiah 51:59. Of travel arrangements.
f)        Daniel 1:11. Of the slaves.
g)       Daniel 2:24. Of executions.
h)       Daniel 6:3. Of the whole Kingdom.
i)        Luke 19:19. Of Five Towns.
j)        John 12:6. Of the common funds.
k)       Genesis 24:2. Of the household.
l)         Genesis 41:41. Of Egypt.
m)     Genesis 45:8. In charge of Pharaoh’s personal affairs.
n)       Genesis 47:6. Of the livestock.
o)        Numbers 4:16. Of the oil for the light.
(This QT reminds me of the burden of responsibility carried by those  people who are In Charge)
------
‘The Wife Of High Value In The Sight Of God.’
1 Peter 3:3-4.
a)       Should not just concentrate on external adornment.
b)       Should have a lovely heart also.
c)        Should have the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit.
d)       This is highly valuable in the Sight of God.
(Through this Second one I find The Wife Of High Value In The Sight Of God)
------
Chris.
The True Believer wife should not just concentrate on external adornment. She should also be training her inner person. This is most important in the Sight of God. So many marriages – even Christian marriages fall apart because both parties fail to care for their inner person. Let us consider these words and, if necessary, apply them.

We Are Given A New Commandment!

‘We Are Given A New Commandment.’
John 13:34-35.
a)   Jesus gave to His Disciples a New Commandment.
b)  They were to Love one another in the same way that He had Loved them.
c)   Everyone will then recognise that they are the Disciples of Jesus Christ, when they see the Disciples’ Love for each other.
(I recognise, by this QT that I Am Given A New Commandment too)
-----
‘A Woman Who Fears The Lord.’
Proverbs 31:30.
a)   Favour is sometimes deceitful.
b)  Beauty is sometimes vain.
c)   A Woman who Fears the Lord.
d)  She shall be praised.
(This Second one tells me about A Woman Who Fears The Lord)
-----
Chris.
The Love that we have for each other in the Church and in the Kingdom of God should be a natural and visible Love. We are free to Love each other because God Loved us first.  The exterior Witness of Love may powerfully touch the unbelievers around us.  The Love that we have for each other should never be a duty – it should be genuine.

A Healthy Desire Of Peter!

‘A Healthy Desire Of Peter.’
2 Peter 1:15.
a)   Peter endeavoured that the True Believers would be able.
b)  After his decease.
c)   To have his Teachings of the Word of God.
d)  Always in remembrance.
(This QT reveals A Healthy Desire Of Peter)
----
‘Beauty From The Lord.’
Psalm 149:4.
a)   The Lord takes pleasure.
b)  In His People.
c)   He will Beautify the Meek.
d)  With Salvation.
(This Second one teaches me how there can be Beauty From The Lord)
----
Chris.

It is good for us not only to memorise Scripture if we can. It is also good for us to remember the Words of God which we have heard in various gatherings of True Believers. It may be in family, in home group, in Church or in Seminar. It is good for us to remember.

Delay!

Because of Hospital Appointment tomorrow. The QT may be later in the day or postponed until the day after.
Thank you for your understanding and prayers.

A Threatening Situation To Face!

‘A Threatening Situation To Face.’
Isaiah 36:2.
a)   The King of Assyria sent his senior Field Marshal – called the Rabshakeh – to face King Hezekiah.
b)  He came with a great army.
c)   He camped by the conduit of the upper pool in the Highway of the Washer’s Field. This means that the water supply for Jerusalem and the facility for washing clothes was cut off.
(This QT reveals to me A Threatening Situation To Face)
---
‘Have Peace And Cheer Up.’
John 16:33.
a)   Jesus clearly spoke these Words to His Disciples for a reason.
b)  He wanted them to have Peace.
c)   Yes, they would have tribulation in the World system.
d)  But they were to be of good cheer because Jesus had (and still has) overcome the World system.
(This Second one encourages me to Have Peace And Cheer Up)
---
Chris.
There are times when we feel trapped by threatening situations. They can cause a lot of frustration and even fear. Jesus says that we are not to fear but to keep Trusting Him. Maybe we do not yet know the way out of our threatening situation but surely God will give it to us in His Way.

The Christian Life!

'The Christian Life.' a)  Deuteronomy 7:11. Keep the Word of  God. b)  Deuteronomy  7:12. Listen to the Word of God. c)  Deuteronomy...
