‘What Is This?’
Exodus 13:14.
a)
When sons ask their
fathers about the meaning of the Passover feast.
b)
The fathers are to tell
them about it. (Give their children spiritual education)
c)
Fathers are to tell their
sons it is an act of remembrance.
d)
God brought the Children
of Israel out of Egypt.
e)
Egypt had been a place of
slavery for them.
f)
God used the strength of
His Powerful Hand to get them out of the house of bondage.
(This QT reveals to me that children sometimes ask meaningful
questions: What Is This?)
‘He Opened Their Understanding.’
Luke 24:44-47.
a) Luke 24:44. Jesus reminded His Disciples of
the Words of the Lord that He had already taught them.
b) Luke 24:45. Jesus opened the understanding of
His Disciples so that they could understand the Scriptures.
c) Luke 24:46. Jesus spoke to them again about
His Death and Resurrection.
d) Luke 24:47. Jesus told His Disciples what
needed to be done. He told them that repentance and remission of sin needed to
be Preached in His Name. This should be amongst all the Nations, beginning at
Jerusalem.
(Through this Second One I see that He Opened Their Understanding)

The way of Teaching that Jesus followed when training His
Disciples was always to open their understanding. I believe this should be the
goal of all Church based Bible Teaching and Bible Study; to open their
understanding. Bible Studies should never be given simply to impress the
hearers about Bible Knowledge, rather, they should help True Believers to grow
in the Lord.
