Chris.
There is a connection between the two Scriptures in this QT. As Esau came to make reconciliation with Jacob, he repeatedly bowed himself to the ground seven times as he approached him. He was very clear that, by his actions, he wanted restoration of relationship with him.
In our personal lives, something needs to be done to prove to God that we want to have a good and restored relationship with him. God calls us into relationship with Him and not to treat Him like a 'corner shop' where we go when we need some thing or have forgotten to buy something on our shopping list.
Some presentations of the Gospel are really not the Gospel at all. The Scripture does not tell us to Believe, it tells us to Repent and Believe, it tells us that we need to be "Born Again". Through God's Working through us and our desire to submit to Him, we prove that we are "Born Again". The Bible calls this 'the fruit of repentance'. We need to change, God does not change, He is like that rock in the picture. The Bible calls God a: "Rock."
Everyone can have Faith and more Faith because God's Word says that: 'Faith comes', and it comes as we hear the Word of God.
I really respect those Nations that I have lived in, or visited, that, as a part of their National Government have a "Department of Religion". This department oversees any religious broadcasting and also the wholeness of the Churches and supervises all religions and religious activity. It endeavors to keep the people, Churches, and Nation safe from the infiltration of religious material that could cause strife, division and heresy in the Nation. It also encourages the Church to have Biblical concepts and avoid extremes.

The Christian Life!
