Get Over It!
‘Get Over It.’
a) Mark 5:4-5. If we hate ourselves we increasingly damage ourselves.
b) Matthew 19:19. How can we love our neighbours if we hate ourselves?
c) Ephesians 5:28. How can we love our spouse if we hate ourselves?
d) 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1. How can we love anyone if we are involved in wrong relationships that are displeasing to the Lord? By living in those relationships we are hating ourselves.
(Through this QT I encourage people who hate themselves to Get Over It)

‘A Servant In Bible Days.’
a) Genesis 24:2; 39:4; Joshua 1:7. Sometimes had great authority.
b) Genesis 12:16. May be male or female.
c) Genesis 15:2-3. Sometimes became heir of their master.
d) Genesis 19:2. Was sometimes a host.
e) Genesis 19:19. May be shown great kindness by those people whom they serve.
f) Genesis 24:5. Could ask questions to their master.
g) Genesis 26:24. God sometimes blessed their descendants.
h) Genesis 32:4. Were sometimes family members of those people whom they serve, especially at times of reconciliation.
i) Genesis 33:1. Sometimes became the spouse of their master.
j) Genesis 41:12. Was sometimes sensitive spiritually.
k) Genesis 43:28. Sometimes respected fathers were called servants.
l) Exodus 4:10; 14:31; Numbers 12:7. Moses saw himself as the Lord’s Servant.
m) Exodus 12:44; 21:2. Were sometimes bought for money.
n) Leviticus 19:13. Was to be paid their wages promptly.
o) Numbers 14:24. Should be fully committed from their heart to follow and serve.
p) Deuteronomy 3:24. Was shown things by the Lord God.
q) Deuteronomy 5:14. Should be given a rest.
r) Deuteronomy 15:13. Should be Blessed by their employer when they finish their service.
s) Deuteronomy 16:11-14. Should be given cause to rejoice together with their employer.
t) John 15:20. Was not greater than their master.
u) Acts 3:13 & 26; 4:30. Jesus Christ was the model.
v) Romans 1:1. Paul was an Apostle and servant.
w) Romans 13:4. Government Rulers are servants.
x) Romans 16:1. Phoebe served the Church.
y) 1 Corinthians 9:19. Apostle Paul made himself a servant to all people that he might win some to Christ.
z) Ephesians 3:7. Servants of the Gospel are gifts of God’s Grace.
(Through this Second one I have a better understanding of A Servant In Bible Days and what it means to be a servant. There is no self degradation or false humility here – just delightful and committed servant-hood)

Servants were, and still are, sometimes shown things by the Lord God. Our idea about the word “servant” has been strongly influenced by the slave traders of 150 – 200 years ago who treated the slaves in inhumane and grossly damaging ways. The shadow of those days still hangs over the modern world today, especially in the Western Nations and because they affect world Christianity to some extent. Through the spreading of Christianity, unfortunately, the shadow spreads too. The servants of the Bible were generally treated much better than the slaves of the slave traders.
