a) There was a famine in the land.
b) So Abram went down to Egypt.
c) To sojourn there.
d) He lived there for a while.
e) Because the famine in the land was severe.

Abram had to move because the famine was severe. This was a necessary move. If Abram did not move, he probably would have died of starvation! For some of us there are times in our lives when we need to move because of necessity. Yes, Abram had followed God's Direction to be where he was, but that was not the end of the journey! For Abram, he faced a move because of necessity, it was totally to do with the environment.
