A Blessed Calling!


'A Blessed Calling.'
1 Peter 3:9.
a)  Not rendering evil for evil.
b)  Not returning railing for railing.
c)  Not returning reviling for reviling.
d)  But, on the contrary, Blessing.
e)  Knowing that we are called to this.
f)  That we may and should inherit a Blessing.
(This QT teaches me an important part of my Faith life: A Blessed Calling)

'Just Once.'
Hebrews 9:25-26.
a)  Jesus did not offer Himself many times.
b)  The Old Testament Priest entered the Most Holy Place once a year.
c)  This Priest entered with other blood - not his own.
d)  If Jesus had to follow this way He would have suffered many times since the foundation of the world.
e)  But now Jesus has appeared once.
f)  At the end of the Ages.
g)  To put away sin.
h)  By the Sacrifice of Himself.
(This Second one calls me to give thanks to the Lord...because of this fact...Just Once...Jesus appeared to put away my sin)

Not rendering evil for evil! This is a temptation that many people face, even True Believers, to take revenge. The Bible tells us, in both Old and New Testaments, that we should not take revenge. In this note I do not want to write about day-to -day examples, but I simply look to my Saviour Jesus. Jesus appeared once, at the end of the Ages, to put away sin. He has dealt with all sin on the Cross. We need to point people to Him and we need to 'leave it' with Him.
