2 Samuel 1:12.
a) After the people heard the news of Saul and Jonathan's deaths, they:-
1-Mourned.
2-Wept.
3-Fasted all day.
b) They mourned and fasted also for the Lord's Army and the Nation of Israel.
c) They died by the sword that day.

a) Jesus was in the wilderness for forty days.
b) He was being tempted by Satan for all those forty days.
c) He was out among the wild animals.
d) Angels took care of Him and were ministering to Him.

This was a very difficult time for the Lord's People, they had heard the news of Saul and Jonathan's deaths. It was a time for mourning for them. Culturally, the time of mourning was also a time of fasting. This was not only the deaths of God's Appointed Leaders, it was also like the death of a people's hope. There was a justifiable reason to mourn and fast.
