'Something Happened.'
Jeremiah 5:30-31.
a) A horrible thing.
b) A shocking thing.
c) Has happened.
d) In this land.
e) The prophets give false prophecies.
f) The priests rule with an iron hand.
g) Worse yet.
h) God's People like it this way.
i) What will they do when the end comes?

The Prophets gave false 'prophecies'. God's People liked that, because the Prophets were giving them 'nice' but false 'prophecies'. These 'prophetic messages' were strongly influencing the People of God to make incorrect decisions with their lives. The Bible teaches us clearly that the Gift of Prophecy for the Church is limited within this boundary: edification, exhortation and comfort. Anything else is incorrect, sometimes even false.
