Teaching From Jesus On Prayer!

'Teaching From Jesus On Prayer.'
Luke 11:5-13.
a)  Luke 11:5. Jesus' Teaching was simple and easy to understand. He gave the example of wanting to borrow bread at midnight.
b) Luke 11:6. A friend had arrived in the late night. The person who wanted to borrow bread wanted that bread to feed his friend.
c)  Luke 11:7. The friend and his family were all in bed - it was a 'family' bed. He cried out that he was in bed and could not help the man who needed the bread.
d)  Luke 11:8. The man who really needed that bread was shamelessly persistent so the friend got up and gave him the bread.
e)  Luke 11:9. In Prayer, if our motive is pure:-
1-Keep asking and you will receive.
2-Keep seeking and you will find.
3-Keep knocking and the door will be opened.
f)  Luke 11:10. For everyone:-
1-Who asks, receives.
2-Who seeks, finds.
3-Who knocks, will have the door opened for them.
g)  Luke 11:11-12. Natural fathers want to give good things to their children.
h)  Luke 11:13. If we are sinful and yet we know how to give good gifts to our children, how much more will our Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those people who ask Him.

'Conflict Sometimes Comes From God.'
Judges 9:23.
a)  God sent an evil spirit that stirred up trouble.
b)  It was between Abimelech and the men of Shechem.
c)  The evil spirit caused treachery and revolution.

Chris.
When we read the Luke passage above, we read that the man was shamelessly persistent in Prayer. The reason why he could Pray like that was that he and his motives were pure. The home owner gave him the bread, firstly because they were friends, secondly because it was a selfless reason that he needed the bread. There is a lesson for us here about our Prayers.
