Tell Me About Scripture!

'Tell Me About Scripture.'
2 Timothy 3:16-17.
a)  God breathed Life into all of Scripture.
b)  All Scripture is useful for us:-
1-Teaching us what is true.
2-Correcting our mistakes.
3-Making our lives Whole again.
4-Training us to do what is correct.
c)  So that by using Scripture, the Servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
(This QT puts in my heart to say to those who know, please Tell Me About Scripture)
-----------------
'In The Will Of God Delay Should Not Mean Cancellation.'
1 Timothy 3:15.
a)  Apostle Paul planned to visit Pastor Timothy and the Ephesus Church.
b)  He knew that there may be some delay in the timing of his visit to Ephesus.
c)  If Paul was delayed, Timothy had the task of Teaching people how to conduct themselves and live in God's family.
d)  God's family is:-
1-The Church of the Living God.
2-The Pillar of the Truth.
3-The Foundation of the Truth.
(By this Second one I am convinced that In The Will Of God Delay Should Not Mean Cancellation.
------------------
Chris.
God breathed Life into all of Scripture. This is one of the main reasons that the Bible, the Word of God, the Scriptures, or whatever words you may use to describe God's Word, remains a unique book translated into many languages. We need to live by, and also make our positive voices heard for, the Scriptures.

God's Commitment To His People!

'God's Commitment To His People.'
Isaiah 43:3.
a)  He told them that He is the Lord their God.
b)  He is the Holy One of Israel.
c)  He is the Saviour of His People.
d)  As a ransom in Israel's place He hands over:-
1-Egypt.
2-Ethiopia.
3.Seba.
(This QT reveals to me God's Commitment to His People)
-------------------
'A Great Reason For Praising God.'
1 Peter 1:3.
a)  We Praise God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
b)  By His Great Mercy He has given us New Birth into a living Hope.
c)  This is through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
(This Second one teaches me A Great Reason For Praising God)
-------------------
A dear friend of mine from South Korea is going to be sent by his Company to Egypt. Egypt has had a major role to play in the events and progress that have been made in the World until today. Even in the days of Moses there were very excellent universities in Egypt. This pattern lasts until today. It is Important to Pray for the True Believers in Egypt, as well as Praying for the Government and the multitudes of people.

It Should Not Be A Surprise!

'It Should Not Be A Surprise.'
1 John 3:13.
a)  Do not be surprised.
b)  This is for the Brothers and sisters of the Church.
c)  If the people of the World system hate you.
(Through this QT I know that It Should Not Be A Surprise)
------------------
'This Pleases God.'
Ephesians 1:5.
a)  Because of His Love.
b)  God had decided to make us His own Children through Jesus Christ.
c)  God predestined us for adoption to son-ship.
d)  This is what God wanted and what pleased Him.
e)  It is in accordance with His Pleasure and Will.
(Through this Second one I see that This Pleases God.
------------------
Chris.
This pleases God. It is a good spiritual exercise for us to look through the Scriptures and discover in them what pleases God. If we are True Believers surely we will want to please Him. Also we can discover the things that He does in our lives that are pleasing to Him.

No Retained Grievances!

'No Retained Grievances.'
Colossians 3:13.
a)  We are to bear with each other.
b)  We are to forgive one another.
c)  Whoever has a complaint against someone should deal with it.
d)  We are to forgive as the Lord forgave us.
(This QT reminds me to have No Retained Grievances)
-----------------
'Our Heavenly Father Knows.'
Matthew 6:32.
a)  Gentile unbelievers run after and seek many things.
b)  Our Heavenly Father knows.
c)  All that we need.
(This Second one gives me great assurance: My Heavenly Father Knows)
-----------------
Chris.
We all need reminding sometimes that we should have no retained grievances. These retained grievances can cause us to have many personal and relational difficulties. This is an "all" thing. Anyone can be affected. Let us, with the Lord's help, be free from retained grievances.

Do Not Be Afraid!

'Do Not Be Afraid.'
Isaiah 43:1-2.
a)  The Lord was speaking to the people that He Loved and Created.
b)  He Created His People.
c)  He formed His People.
d)  He told His People not to fear because He had Redeemed them.
e)  He summoned His People by name.
f)  He desired His People to have assurance that they belonged to Him.
g)  The Lord would be with His People when they:-
1-Pass through the waters.
2-Go through the rivers.
3-Walked through the fire.
(This QT encourages me: Do Not Be Afraid)
----------------
'We Need Grace To Stand.'
1 Timothy 6:21.
a)  Some people had made profession and claimed to have knowledge of the things of the Lord.
b)  In doing so they abandoned and departed from the Faith.
c)  God's Grace and good will are necessary for us to stand.
(This Second one reminds me that I Need Grace To Stand)
----------------
Chris.
God summoned His People by name. This is something that He has always done, from the earliest days of Genesis until now. When God summons His People by name it does not normally be something noisy and dramatic, it is more often softly and clearly. God is not mysterious towards His People, He wants us to understand clearly.

Simply Not Like Cain!

'Simply Not Like Cain.'
1 John 3:12.
a)  We are not to be like Cain who was of the evil one.
b)  He murdered his brother.
c)  Why did he murder him?
d)  Because his own deeds were evil.
e)  The deeds of his brother were righteous.
(This QT reminds me that I must be Simply Not Like Cain)
---------------
'What God Desires.'
Hosea 6:6.
a)  God desires Mercy.
b)  God does not require Sacrifice.
c)  God desires the Acknowledgment of Himself.
d)  God does not desire burnt offerings.
(Through this Second one I know What God Desires)
---------------
Chris.
The deeds of Abel were recorded as being Righteous. Righteousness is something that should be fruit in the life of every True Believer. Righteousness is a part of our calling, a must if we are going to be effective Lights that shine for the Lord.

To Him Be Glory Now And Forever!

'To Him Be Glory Now And Forever.'
2 Peter 3:18.
a)  Our Lord and Saviour wants us to grow.
b)  To grow in:-
1-Grace.
2-Knowledge.
3-Understanding.
c)  Then we can give Him Glory both now and Forever.
(Through this QT I exclaim: To Him Be Glory Now And Forever)
--------------
'The First And Greatest Commandment.'
Matthew 22:37-38.
a)  This is the Commandment that is:-
1-First.
2-Greatest.
3-Most important.
b)  These are Words spoken by Jesus Christ Himself.
c)  We should Love the Lord our God with all of our:-
1-Heart.
2-Soul.
3-Mind.
4-Passion.
5-Intelligence.
(This Second one reveals to me The First And Greatest Commandment)
--------------
Chris.
I desire to exclaim frequently To God Be The Glory Now And Forever. This is the year of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. People will come to Scotland from all over the World to compete, and others come to cheer. Whatever happens in the sporting games, as True Believers we need to exclaim and proclaim To God Be Glory Now And Forever.

We Learn From The Word Of God!

'We Learn From The Word Of God.'
Isaiah 42:23-25.
a)  Isaiah 42:23. We need to listen and pay close attention to this Word.
b)  Isaiah 42:24. It was the Lord Who handed Jacob and Israel over to be looted and plundered.
c)  Isaiah 42:24. The people of Israel and Jacob:-
1-Sinned against the Lord.
2-Would not follow the Lord's Ways.
3-Did not obey the Law of the Lord.
d)  Isaiah 42:25. The Lord poured out on them His Burning Anger:-
1-They experienced the violence of war.
2-They were enveloped in flames but still did not understand.
3-Flames consumed them but they did not take it to heart.
e)  Isaiah 42:25. God wanted them to repent.
(Through this QT I Learn From The Word Of God)
-------------
'A Long Term Choice.'
Ephesians 1:4.
a)  Long ago, even before God Created the World.
b)  God chose us to be His very Own through what Christ would do for us.
c)  God decided to make us Holy in His Eyes, without a single fault.
d)  We now stand before God covered with His Love.
(This Second one teaches me A Long Term Choice)
-------------
Chris.
When God's People sin against Him it is a grievous thing and not to be taken lightly. We sometimes sin against God as an individual and we know it is incorrect but we do nothing about it. We sometimes sin against God as a family, 'using' Him in some way. We may also sin against Him as a Church, this needs Church repentance.

A Long Lasting Message!

'A Long Lasting Message.'
1 John 3:11.
a)  This is the Message.
b)  We have heard from the beginning.
c)  We should love one another.
(This QT is A Long Lasting Message)
-----------
'In The Lord Jesus Christ.'
Colossians 1:11.
a)  We can be strengthened with all Power.
b)  This is according to Christ's Glorious Might.
c)  So that we may have great Endurance.
d)  So that we have joyful Patience.
(This Second one reminds me of the Promises In The Lord Jesus Christ)
-----------
Chris.
Being in the Lord Jesus Christ is surely a very wonderful privilege. We are Called and Chosen, living in abundant Grace and have this Blessing of being in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that if we are in Christ then we are a New Creation. Hallelujah!

Instructions And A Promise For God's People!

'Instructions And A Promise For God's People!
Acts 2:38-39.
a)  Peter told the New Believers to Repent.
b)  Peter told them all to be (water) Baptised.
c)  Peter told them that they would receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit.
d)  This Promise is for all True Believers, all whom God had Called.
e)  The Promise was for:-
1-The Hearers.
2-Their Children.
3-Far off generations.
(This QT reveals to me Instructions And A Promise For God's People)
----------
'Predestined.'
'Ephesians 1:11.
a)  In Christ we have been chosen and we have an inheritance.
b)  We have been Predestined according to the Will of God.
c)  God Works out everything in conformity with the Purpose of His Will.
(Through this Second one I Rejoice in that I am Predestined)
----------
Chris.
True Believers are people whom God has called to live a New Life through their personal knowledge of Christ as Saviour and Lord. There were, and are, specific Promises that God gives His Children. We need to Believe those Promises to be partakers of them.

When God's People Lived In Captivity!

'When God's People Lived In Captivity.'
Isaiah 42:22.
a)  They became plundered and looted.
b)  They were trapped in pits.
c)  They were hidden away in prisons.
d)  They became plunder and no one rescued them.
e)  They had been made loot and there was no one to deliver them.
f)  There was no one to send them back.
(This QT teaches me what happened When God's People Lived In Captivity)
---------
'Wonderful Lord.'
Psalm 149:4.
a)  The Lord takes Delight and Pleasure in His People.
b)  The Lord crowns the humble people with Victory.
c)  The Lord beautifies the meek people with Salvation.
(Through this Second one I Joy in my Wonderful Lord)
---------
Chris.
God's People had been loot and there was no one to deliver them. This was a tragic story. If we live out of fellowship with God there are all sorts of things that may happen. God may allow these things to draw us back to Him.

This Is How We Know!

'This Is How We Know.'
1 John 3:10.
a)  This is how we know who the Children of God are.
b)  This is how we know who the children of the devil are.
c)  Anyone who does not do what is correct and righteous is not God's Child.
d)  Anyone who does not love their brother or sister (in Christ) is not God's Child.
(This QT simply explains to me that This Is How I Know)
----------------
'Creator Of All Things.'
Revelation 4:11.
a)  Our Lord and God is Worthy.
b)  He should receive:-
1-Glory.
2-Honour.
3-Power.
c)  Our Lord and God created all things and they have their being.
(This Second one reveals to me the Creator Of All Things)
----------------
Chris.
All the way through the New Testament we read that True Believers are enjoined to love one another. For some people in some situations this has become a difficult task. Rather than looking at the other person in a negative or criticising way, we can at least Pray for them in our private Prayers. Reconciliation is not the first step in restoration because some people do not understand reconciliation. When someone is in the wrong this has nothing to do with loving each other. Wrong needs to be corrected.

The Angel Of The Lord!

'The Angel Of The Lord.'
Matthew 28:3.
a)  The Angel of the Lord came down from Heaven.
b)  The Angel of the Lord looked dazzling - like lightning.
c)  The Angel of the Lord wore clothes as white as snow.
d)  The Angel of the Lord rolled back the stone from the cave grave that the Body of Christ was in and then sat on that stone.
(This QT helps me know more about The Angel Of The Lord)
----------------
'Meaningful Promises Of God.'
2 Corinthians 6:14-18.
(This is addressed to the New Believers in Corinth but is also very relevant for us today as we make Disciples of New Believers)
a)  2 Corinthians 6:14. We should not get yoked together with unbelievers. Righteousness and wickedness have nothing in common, nor do Light and darkness.
b)  2 Corinthians 6:15-16. What harmony is there between:-
1-Christ and the Devil?
2-A True Believer and a non-Believer?
3-The Temple of God and idols?
c)  2 Corinthians 6:16. God says of us that He will live with us and walk among us.
d)  2 Corinthians 6:16-18. If we obey this Word there are three Promises of God for us:-
1-2 Corinthians 6:16. God's Ownership.
2-2 Corinthians 6:17. God's Acceptance.
3-2 Corinthians 6:18. God's Fatherhood.
(Through this Second one I find Meaningful Promises Of God)
----------------
Chris.
Jesus actually told His Disciple Apostles to go into all the World and make Disciples. Preaching the Gospel and Evangelism in its various forms was a large part of their Commission, but there was also the necessity for Discipleship being taught. Someone said, according to the Scripture, that Disciples are made and not born that way.

His Instruction Magnified!

'His Instruction Magnified.'
Isaiah 42:21.
a)  It pleased the Lord.
b)  Because of His Righteousness.
c)  To magnify His Instruction and Law.
d)  To make it Great and Glorious.
(This QT shows me His Instruction Magnified)
---------------
'Do Not Be Deceived.'
1 Corinthians 15:33.
a)  Do not be misled or deceived.
b)  Bad company.
c)  Corrupts good morals and character.
(This Second one urges me: Do Not Be Deceived)
---------------
Chris.
It is a noble desire of the Church Leaders if they want to see The Lord's Instruction magnified in the churches. When we look at the Gospels and the Book of Acts we can see that there is a balance between Evangelistic Preaching and also the Teaching of the Truth to True Believers. This pattern, I Believe, is something that we can learn from.

They Cannot Go On Sinning!

'They Cannot Go On Sinning.'
1 John 3:9.
a)  No one who is Born of God will continue to sin.
b)  For God's Seed is in them.
c)  They cannot go on sinning.
d)  Because they have been born of God.
(Through this QT I know that I Cannot Go On Sinning)
--------------
'We Really Should Not Deny Jesus.'
John 18:25-26.
a)  Simon Peter was standing by the fire keeping himself warm. (His priority at this time was himself)
b)  The other people standing around the fire questioned Simon Peter because they thought that he also was one of the Disciples of the Lord.
c)  Peter denied it by saying that he was not a Disciple of the Lord.
d)  One of the High Priest's servants challenged Peter.
e) He thought that he saw Simon Peter with Jesus in the garden.
(This Second one clearly teaches me that I Really Should Not Deny Jesus)
--------------
Chris.
It is clear head and heart knowledge for every True Believer that we should not ever deny Jesus. Mostly it is fear, shame or embarrassment that would cause us to do that. If we do not resolve it in Prayer and renewed relationship with the Lord it may cause us in reality to go far away from the Lord.

Uproar!

'Uproar.'
a)  Acts 16:20. The City was in uproar because of the Power of the Gospel.
b)  Acts 19:29. The City was in uproar because of the Ministry of Deliverance.
c)  Acts 21:34; 23:8-10. Uproar prevents the Truth from being made known.
d)  1 Samuel 4:6. Causes people to want to know what it is all about.
e)  Psalm 65:7. The Lord calms the uproar of the Nations.
f)  Psalm 74:22-23. God can silence the uproar of His Enemies.
g)  Isaiah 33:3. At the uproar of the Lord's Army people are caused to flee.
h)  Isaiah 66:6. When the Lord pays back His Enemies they go into uproar.
i)  Matthew 27:24. Uproar can affect the decisions of leaders.
(This QT teaches me about the influence of Uproar)
------------
'They Tied Jesus Up.'
John 18:12.
a)  Jesus was arrested.
b)  Those who arrested Him were:-
1-A detachment of soldiers. (Military opposition)
2-The Commander of the soldiers. (Authority opposition)
3-Jewish officials. (Religious opposition)
c)  They tied Jesus up.
(This Second one reveals that They Tied Jesus Up)
------------
Chris.
God can silence the uproar of His enemies. This is a part of the miraculous power of God. Over the years we have seen and read of uproar that has taken place because of the enemies of God. A point to note... God always gains the Victory and the Glory in the end.

Pay Attention!

'Pay Attention.'
Isaiah 42:18-20.
a)  Isaiah 42:18. The deaf people can hear and the blind people can see.
b)  Isaiah 42:19. God's Own People were blind and deaf. These people were:-
1-God's Servants.
2-God's Messengers.
3-People in covenant with God.
c)  Isaiah 42:20. These people see many things but pay no attention and hear many things but do not listen.
(This QT calls me to Pay Attention to God)
-----------
Seek The Lord.'
Isaiah 55:6-9.
a)  In this chapter we can see from vv1-5 that God was calling to His People who were seemingly not obedient to Him in how they were living. These were not Righteous people living humbly in the Will of God.
b)  Isaiah 55:6. They were to seek the Lord whilst He may be found and call upon Him while He was near.
c)  Isaiah 55:7. They were to turn from wicked ways and unrighteous thoughts.
d)  Isaiah 55:7. They were to turn to the Lord and He would have Mercy on them.
e)  Isaiah 55:7. They were to turn to God for He would freely pardon them.
f)  Isaiah 55:8. The Lord Declared that God's thoughts and ways were totally different to those of the wicked. (He was calling people who had been living in wickedness)
g)  Isaiah 55:9. The Lord said that His Thoughts and Ways were higher than those of the people whom He was calling.
(This Second one encourages me to Seek The Lord)
-----------
Chris.
God's Servants have a responsibility to remain in the Fellowship with Himself that He has called them into. He gives Grace to enable them to do this. If we remain in Fellowship with Him the first thing that happens is that we Obey Him, secondly they have a desire to Serve Him. Finally, they desire to encourage other people to do so.

We Need Jesus The Son Of God!

'We Need Jesus The Son Of God.'
1 John 3:8.
a)  John 8:44. We need Him because the wilfully sinful person is influenced by the Devil.
b)  The Devil has been sinning from the beginning.
c)  The Son of God came to destroy the Devil's work.
(This QT reminds me that I Need Jesus The Son Of God)
----------
'Emotional Violence.'
John 18:10.
a)  At the time of Jesus' arrest.
b)  Simon Peter took his sword. (Why did he have a sword?)
c)  He took out his sword and struck the High Priest's servant.
d)  He cut off his right ear.
e)  The servant's name was Malchus.
f)  The name Malchus has a meaning of 'Counsellor', he was obviously an important man in Israel at that time.
(This Second one shows me an example of the wrong way, the way of Emotional Violence)
----------
Chris.
I need Jesus The Son of God every day. One of the main purposes of His Coming was to destroy the Devil's work. The Bible tells me that the Devil came to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came to give Abundant Life and to destroy the Devil's work.

Forget The Frilly Bits!

'Forget The Frilly Bits.'
Isaiah 53:2.
a)  Isaiah 11:1. Jesus grew up like a young plant.
b)  He was like a root out of dry ground.
c)  He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him.
d)  Isaiah 52:14. There was nothing in His Appearance that we should desire Him.
(Through this QT I want to Forget The Frilly Bits in the erroneous pictures I see regarding the tortuous Death of our Lord)
---------
'Apostle Peter's Unreal Enthusiasm.'
Luke 22:33.
a)  Peter audaciously replied to the Lord Jesus.
b)  That he was ready to go to jail with Him.
c)  That he was ready to die with Him.
(Through this Second one I can learn from Apostle Peter's Unreal Enthusiasm)
---------
Chris.
What made Christ so desirous for the disciples to be with Him was certainly not His Physical Appearance. Apart from the time that He was Glorified before them He seemed to be a very normal looking man who travelled much in the desert. What made Him so desirable was the fact that the fullness of the God Head dwelt in Him.

Trust Only In The Living God!

'Trust Only In The Living God.'
Isaiah 42:17.
a)  Those people who trust in idols.
b)  Those people who talk to images.
c)  They say to those images that they are their gods.
d)  Those people will be turned back and utterly put to shame.
(Through this QT I desire to Trust Only In The Living God)
--------
'Do We Follow At A Distance And Watch?'
Matthew 26:58.
a)  This was Apostle Peter, following Christ at a distance.
b)  Peter went as far as the courtyard of the High Priest.
c)  Peter entered.
d)  He then sat with the guards.
e)  To watch the outcome.
(This Second one challenges me: Do I Follow At A Distance And Watch?)
--------
Chris.
I am frequently reminded in all the countries that I visit, including my own, to trust only in the Living God. If our trust is actually diverted away from Him in the end we will be hurt and disappointed. There is sometimes a price of some kind to pay but it is good and wise to trust only in the Living God.

The Balance Between Truth and Experience, Our Witness of Jesus.

“The Balance Between Truth and Experience, our Witness of Jesus.” a) Micah 5:2. The Truth of Jesus Place of Birth. b) Isaiah 7:14. The S...
