'King David's Looking.'

Psalm 61:5-8.

a) v5. His looking back on what God has done.

i) Genesis 35:1. He saw himself like Jacob.

ii) Psalm 66:19. He has Assurance of God's Prayer answering Ability.

iii) Malachi 3:16. God has a Book of REMEMBRANCE for those who Fear the Lord and Revere His Name.

iv) Malachi 4:2. A Covenant of Life and Peace.

b) v6. His looking forward to Life and Future Generation Blessings.

i) Psalm 21:6. He wanted not only to be Blessed but Joyful.

ii) Psalm 72:15-16. He looked forward to Future Prosperity.

iii) Psalm 89:36-37. He looked forward to an Ever-Enduring Throne.

iv) Psalm 41:12. He looked forward to being set in God's Presence forever.

c) v7. His looking to the Lord for Grace.

i) Luke 1:72. God Gave it to him as one of the Fathers.

ii) Psalm 40:11. Grace that would continually preserve him.

iii) Genesis 24:27; 32:10. That is God's Personality - Grace Giver.

iv) Psalm 86:15. God Is Abundantly Gracious.

d) v8. His looking to the Lord to be a Praising Worshipper.

i) Psalm 30:12. Worship and Praise with Thankfulness from his soul.

ii) Psalm 79:13. Worship and Praise as God's People to the Generations.

iii) Psalm 145:1-2. Extolling and Blessing God's Name every day forever.

iv) Psalm 146:2. Worship and Praise for all his life on the earth.

'Our Desire to Be Clean.'

a) Jeremiah 14:20; 3:13. Our wickedness needs to be acknowledged before God.

b) Leviticus 26:40-42. Iniquity must be confessed before God to experience His Restoration and Renewed Covenant.

c) Nehemiah 9:2. God's People - by themselves as His People, need to confess their sins to Him - not amongst unbelievers.

d) Psalm 32:5. If we do not hide but confess our transgressions to the Lord, He Will Forgive us.

e) 1 John 1:9. If we confess our sins to Him, God is Faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us.

f) Psalm 24:3-4. We need to be clean to Stand in God's Holy Place.

g) Psalm 18:20. The Clean people will be Rewarded.

h) Isaiah 33:15-16. The Clean people will have Safety and Provision.

i) James 4:8. Come near to God, He Alone can make us Clean.

j) Psalm 51:10. We need a Pure heart.

k) Psalm 73:1. God is Good to those who are Pure in heart.

l) Acts 15:9. Our hearts are Cleansed by Faith.

m) 2 Corinthians 7:1. Because of God's Promises we need to ensure the Purity of our Body and Spirit)
