Jeremiah 2:7-8.
a)  God brought His People into a bountiful country.
b)  God wanted them to eat its fruit and its goodness.
c)  When they entered, they defiled God's Land.
d)  God's People made His Heritage an abomination.
e)  Their priests did not seek the Lord.
f)  The Teachers of the Law did not know the Lord.
g)  The Rulers transgressed against the Lord.
h)  The Prophets prophesied by Baal.
i)  The Prophets walked after things that did not profit them.

a)  Jesus' Disciples did not think that Tradition was necessary here.
b)  They were clean.
c)  They did not wash their hands before they ate.

Their Priests did not seek the Lord. Here we see one of the basic principles of the life of a Shepherd or Teacher of God's People. These Ministers have to seek the Lord. Firstly, they have to seek Him for themselves, that they will never take their own spiritual life for granted. Secondly, they have to seek His Anointing on the Ministry that He has given to Him. Thirdly, they need to seek Him on behalf of the people that they serve.
