a) Hebrews 11:2. Through their faith gained a good reputation.
b) Acts 2:17. Will dream dreams in the last days.
c) Acts 11:30. Should be good stewards of Church Finance.
d) Acts 14:23. Should Trust in the Lord Who will care for them.
e) Acts 15:2. Should be able to deal with conflicts in the Church.
f) 1 Timothy 5:17. Who do their work well should be respected.
g) Titus 1:5. Need to be appointed in every town where there are True Believers.
h) James 5:14. Should be men of Prayer that also minister to the sick people of the Church.
i) 1 Peter 5:5. Should have authority that is recognised in the Church and be humble.
j) Revelation 4:10. Should Worship the Lord)

‘A Pattern Of Temptation.’
Genesis 3:1-7.
a) Genesis 3:1. Satan gets the person he is tempting to doubt God’s Word.
b) Genesis 3:2-3. An inaccurate understanding of God’s Word makes us spiritually weak.
c) Genesis 3:4-5. Satan’s lies.
d) Genesis 3:6. Sin is committed.
e) Genesis 3:7. Sin’s consequences change lives in a negative way.

Elders who do their work well should be respected. I am sad when I hear of good Elders being derided in the Churches. This is not how God intends it to be. There are some people in the Churches who have been wounded in some way by authority figures and they hold something against authority figures for many years. This kind of opposition can make it difficult for Biblical Elders to function well.
