Chris.
The words
"far off" must be taken as relative. The Jewish people, in the Bible
days, as well as in these modern days, had their dwelling places within walking
distance of their place of Worship as they were to do no work on the Sabbath.
The meaning of this "far off" in the Bible means that there needs to
be clear distinction in every part of our life. The Life of the Believer's
family, The Worship of the Believer, The Ministry of the Believer, there needs
to be distinction of a clear nature in each part. The person who says that they
sacrifice their family for the sake of "mission" or
"ministry" is in clear disobedience to God. The person who does not
Worship, but makes the excuse that they are "busy doing ministry" is
also in clear disobedience to God.
