(Through this QT I can see and experience A Wonderful Change)
PRAYER: That we would reflect the Lord's Glory daily.

As True Believers, the positive changes that may take place in our lives are surely coming from the Lord. When we walk and live with Him day-by-day something wonderful happens, even though we may not always be aware of it. We are being changed from Glory to Glory by the working of the Holy Spirit. We may not feel like it, we may not even look like it, but surely, according to the Promise of God's Word, it happens. 

Lot's Request Answered!

(This Second one reminds me that Even Owls And Buzzards Need A Home and the picture reminds us that pigs need a home too!)

There are times when we need encouragement for our Prayer life. This incident, recorded here in Genesis surely encourages us to Pray. The Angel of the Lord said to Lot that Lot's Prayer and asking had been answered, the Lord was going to demonstrate His Mercy. It also shows us that Praying for the place where we live is a Prayer that the Lord answers. Yes, we should be Praying for our City, Town or Village. 

Raised Up!

John 6:40.
a)  Jesus Christ said: "This is the Will of Him Who sent Me:
b)  "That everyone who sees the Son,
c)  "And Believes in Him

Here is the ultimate hope of every True Believer: that Jesus Christ will raise us up at the Last Day. It is from that time that we will perfectly and consciously be with Him forever and ever in a perfect Eternity. It is challenging to our Faith and our imagination also, but it is True: Jesus Christ Will Raise Us Up.

The True Believer has certain facts about their Faith Life that are very real! For all of us who may call ourselves "True Believers" it means that we live a New Life in Christ. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Holy Spirit, we are: Washed, Sanctified and Justified, and God gives us the Power of the Holy Spirit so that we can live accordingly.

Lot found a "safe" little city! It is natural that every good father will want to provide the best and safest place for his family to dwell in. Children that grow up in an unsafe environment are often diagnosed as 'dysfunctional' because of their behavior which is due to that environment. We need to pray for the children of our Church and Mission to have the best possible environment in which they can grow well.

God is the One Who works in the life of every True Believer with the goal of raising them up at the Last Day. The only way that this is going to happen in reality is if the True Believer continues to respond to God's Word and Grace. Is is not for us to judge 'who is who' but we are simply to be ready ourselves for that Last Day.

The Holy Spirit surely helps us to live because it is by the Holy Spirit that we put to death the deeds of the body. Some of the most miserable people I have met are those who endeavour to live the Christian 'Life of Faith' in their own strength. God has given us the Holy Spirit to empower us to live this Life. We really need to be truly filled with the Holy Spirit. 

More Of Stubborn Lot!

(This QT teaches me about Stubborn Lot, even though the Lord was helping him, he was afraid that he would die)
PRAY: That our stubborn fear would not hinder us from doing the Will of God.

The fear of disaster or evil was not only Lot's problem, it is also a common spiritual malady in these days! Fear always paralyses Faith! Lot had already been delivered miraculously by the Angel of the Lord, now it was the time for him to move on. There are too many people who, after receiving God's Grace, never do anything else, or really obey God, because of their fear. We already have the solution to fear in our heart, perfect loves removes and casts out all fear.

Doing The Will Of God Is Paramount!

The Will of God is something that the True Believer is often confronted with. When we Pray for God to reveal His Will to us, He surely will answer that Prayer. If we fail to respond to God's Will, we end up living a meaningless and frustrating life, especially if we are True Believers. So many Christian families and Churches have difficulties because they are failing to seek or to live in God's Plan and Will for their lives.

Serving The Lord!

iv - So that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit.

Now we have been set free from sin. As True Believers, now we have a desire to live as slaves of God. It is as a result of this setting free, and from the desire in our heart, that we can live as slaves of God. In the World system, being a slave is a choice that very few people would make. In the Kingdom of God, however, to be a slave of God is indeed a High Privilege.

Stubborn Lot!

a)  The Angel had rescued Lot and His Family. 
b)  Lot lingered, he had liked the "city life".
c)  But the city was too corrupt.
d)  God was going to destroy the city. 
e)  Lot loved the "city life" too much, He was protesting to the Angel.

PRAYER: That we will obey God and not be stubborn.

The Angel had rescued Lot and his family, taking them away from the corrupt city which God was going to destroy. Instead of being purely grateful, there was something of the city which remained in Lot's heart. This is the reason that Lot lingered, he did not really want to leave! Even though God had clearly rescued Lot, Lot did not fully appreciate it. Stubbornness can hinder us from entering the Fulness of the Promises of God. 

Secure In Christ!

Isaiah the Prophet is amongst those people who are recorded in the Bible as "crying out". To cry out before the Lord, or, on behalf of, the Lord, seems to be a Biblically acceptable thing to do. When we have specific needs that are in our hearts, we can cry out before the Lord for those needs to be met. God is a God Who responds to the Prayers of His People and God is a compassionate God. It is important to realise though, that God does not answer prayers that are not in His Will and He does not answer manipulative 'prayers'.

Going Back To The Beginning!

There was a former time, in the beginning of the Creation, when the heavens had no light. It was God Who put lights into the heavens and Who keeps them there. It is God Who still arranges the Light and the Universe. After God finished His Initial Creation, He planned for mankind to Worship first, not to work first.

When God gives us specific instructions, as in this QT, we should also specifically obey Him. "Do not stay anywhere in the valley" was a very specific instruction that the Lord gave to Lot through an Angel. It was a clear "get out" and there could be no compromise! If God tells us to "get out", then we should not stay put or try to 'hide in the valley'!

They Still Did Not Believe!

(This QT reminds me that Salvation is really the Gift of God: They Still Did Not Believe)

Salvation is really the Gift of God! God wants to Save people, God wants to being Restoration to their lives. The first and foremost part of the Gospel Message is that we can be Saved from the result of our sin by Jesus Christ's shed Blood at the Cross and that we can have New Life in Him. From there, that Salvation experience, we have the desire and prayer for other people to experience this same Salvation.

If You Teach Others!

One of the most prevalent sins in the Church today is the very personal and shameful sin of immorality of some form. This kind of sin causes great deception in the Church because a deceptive spirit comes into the Church and to the regular Believer they have a sense of "no problems here" about their Church. The problem is that the eventual outcome can be destruction of a Ministry, a Church, a Minister or a Believer. 

Lot Hesitated - But The Lord Helped Him!

Genesis 19:16.
a)  But Lot hesitated. 
b)  So the men (Angels) seized: 
1-His hand.
2-His wife's hand.
3-The hand of Lot's two daughters. 
c)  For the Compassion of the Lord was upon him. 
d)  And the Angels brought him out. 
e)  They put him outside the city. 
(This QT teaches me that Lot Hesitated - But The Lord Helped Him)
PRAY: For God's Help when we need it and thanking God for His Help when we receive it.

(Through this Second one I am reminded that the Lord is The Creator Of All Things)
PRAY: Thanking God that He is The Creator of all things.

The Angels did not forget Lot's two daughters, this happening includes them. God rescued them! The Lord is the Creator of families too! There is a saying: "the family that prays together stays together". This saying is seen as "old fashioned" by some Christian families, citing all kinds of reasons why they do not want to pray together! The problem is this: Basic family devotion is still something that is very helpful for day-by-day life together as a family. 

The Bread Of Life!

c)  "He who Comes to Me will not hunger,
d)  "And he who Believes in Me

(Through this QT I want to partake of The Bread Of Life)
PRAYER: For the Bread of Life to be a daily reality for us.

Jesus said that if we Believe in Him, we will never thirst. Why is it that Christians sometimes thirst for worldly things and possessions? The answer is simple: They are not Trusting God for all things in their lives or Trusting Him to meet their needs. Jesus calls us not only to come to Him, but also to Believe in Him.

PRAYER: For discernment regarding 'prophecies' and 'prophets'.

Real Prophecies eventually come to pass! We should not limit their timing, unless the prophecy itself speaks of a time or timing. The Prophecy given by Agabus came to pass in the days of Claudius. Most Prophecies do not specify a time, only some do that. The tests of a Prophecy are: 1-That it comes to pass sooner or later. 2-That it is according to the Word of God. 3-That it is subject to discerning Church Leadership's verification. (God will not allow the Gift of Prophecy to function where there is no discerning Church Leadership!)

Real Urgency!

'Real Urgency.'
Genesis 19:15. 
a)  The sun was coming up.
b)  So the Angels tried to get Lot to leave.
c)  They said to Lot: "Hurry up!
d)  "Take your wife and your two daughters who are here.
e)  "Get out!
f)  "If you don't
g)  "You will be swept away when the city is punished."
(This QT shows me a case of Real Urgency)
PRAYER: For Wisdom in how to respond in situations of Real Urgency.

Isaiah 63:10. 
a)  They refused to obey God.
b)  They grieved God's Holy Spirit.
c)  So God turned against them and became their enemy. 
d)  God Himself fought against His People.
(Through this Second one I find a rare occurrence: God Turned Against Them)
PRAYER: That we will always have the heart to obey God.

"Get out!" was simply what the Angels said. When God says to us that we are to "Get out!" we simply need to obey Him. Surely, there will be situations that we face in our lives when this will happen: God will say: "Get out!" Usually it is when there is danger of some kind that we do not know about, or it may be some place, something or someone that we are holding on to in disobedience to God and He simply says:"Get out!"

They Had Not Understood!

a)  The people said to Jesus:

c)  "Give us this bread

(This QT teaches me that They Had Not Understood)
PRAYER: That we will really understand the Teachings of the Lord Jesus.

It was quite common in the days of Jesus' Ministry and Teaching on this Earth for the people to not really understand what He was Teaching them. One of the phrases that the Bible uses is that they were "blinded". This problem may sometimes happen in our Churches today! The Pastor preaches a very clear and good Message, but the congregation are "blinded".

David Called The Son Of Man 'Lord'!

King David clearly called The Son of Man "Lord". We now live in an age of common rudeness and irreverence. In many families the children call their parents by the first given name, even from an early age. In some cultures people are encouraged to call authority figures by their first given name. It has not always been like this... we are even over-familiar towards the Lord Himself! It is because we are now living in an age of common rudeness and irreverence. Common rudeness and irreverence can lead us on to anarchy if we are not careful. 

Was Lot Too Humorous?

Genesis 19:14. 
a)  So Lot went out
b)  And spoke to the young men engaged to his daughters.
c)  Lot said:
d)  "Quick, get out of the City!
e)  "The Lord is about to destroy it!"
f)  But the men thought Lot was only joking.
(This QT, "Was Lot Too Humorous?" Makes me realize that humor has a good place in our lives but too much can be risky)
PRAY: To have a good balance of humor and practical reality in our conversations.

So Lot went out to speak to the young men but they thought that he was only joking. Lot must have been a jovial father-in-law. It is really nice to have a humorous and happy family. I am sure that it is right! If, however, the head of the family is a joker, or a man who hides reality behind humor, then the family may be at risk of having unnecessary problems. Fathers should know the balance between humor and reality well.

The Church already has the Revelation of the Bread of God. Everyone in the Church knows the answer to the question: Who is the Bread of God? The Communion Service is supposed to be both a remembrance Worship Service where we remember what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for us, and also a remembrance Celebration Service, celebrating the Victory of Jesus Christ on the Cross for us: "It is finished."

PRAYER: For the Lord to give to us more of His Servants who have A Real Calling.

We need to see more evidences of God's Kingdom in our Churches and on our Mission Fields today. I sincerely Believe that the Lord loves His Church, whatever form it may take, and He has more of a 'heart' for Mission than we do. We need to see the answer to our frequent Prayer that Jesus taught us to Pray: 'Your Kingdom come; Your Will be done.' Church is not about our "kingdom" or our will.

Angels not only can sometimes be seen, more often not seen, they can also speak. Sometimes, in the Bible, they were not initially recognized as Angels. When Angels spoke, it was always a very relevant statement: a call to Worship God, or a certain instruction from God. They were sometimes sent for the protection and safety of Believers, that still happens today.
