(Through this QT I desire to be On The Mountain Of The Lord)
------------
‘Follow Christ’s Example.’
Philippians 2:1-10.
a)   Philippians 2:1. Things there needs to be:-
1-  Encouragement in Christ.
2-  Comfort from Love.
3-  Participation in the Holy Spirit.
4-  Affection.
5-  Sympathy.
b)   Philippians 2:2. How we should be in front of our Leaders:-
1-  Having the same mind.
2-  Having the same love.
3-  Being in full accord.
c)   Philippians 2:3. We should do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, rather, in humility count other people as more significant than ourselves.
d)   Philippians 2:4. We should not be selfish but we should be caring about other people.
e)   Philippians 2:5. We should aim for the same mind and attitude that Christ had.
f)   Philippians 2:6. Even though Christ was and is the Son of God He did not count that equality with Christ was a thing to be grasped.
g)   Philippians 2:7. Jesus Christ:-
1-  Made Himself nothing.
2-  Took the form of a servant.
3-  Was born in the likeness of men.
h)   Philippians 2:8. He was found in human form and He humbled Himself to death on the Cross.
i)   Philippians 2:9. God has now exalted Him and given Him the Name above every name.
j)   Philippians 2:10. Now, in the Name of Jesus, every knee shall and will bow.
(This Second one encourages me to Follow Christ’s Example, and not push or exalt myself)
 ------------
Chris.
Jesus Christ made Himself nothing. He was and is and will be always something. He is God the Son, the Son of God and part of the Triune God. Jesus Christ made Himself nothing for us, to identify with us. We need to take this ultimate example of humility and apply it to ourselves. We are nothing and we should not try in pride to make something of ourselves. We should humbly use our gifts and talents for the Glory of God.

We Are Not To Fellowship With Lazybones!

‘We Are Not To Fellowship With Lazybones.’
2 Thessalonians 3:6.
a)   Apostle Paul wrote this as a Command.
b)   A Command in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
c)   We are to keep away from any Church person who is walking in idleness.
d)   1 Corinthians 5:11. We are to keep away from any Church person who deliberately walks in a different way from the Truth which they have been taught.
(This QT reminds me that I Am Not To Fellowship With Lazybones)
 -----------
‘Our Lord And Saviour.’
(This Psalm tells of King Solomon who, here, is a type of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ)
Psalm 72:8-19.
a)   Psalm 72:8. Has Dominion over the Earth and seas.
b)   Psalm 72:9. Will be Honoured and Worshipped even by the nomadic desert tribes.
c)   Psalm 72:9. Will have Victory over His enemies.
d)   Psalm 72:10. Many kings will offer to Him.
e)   Psalm 72:11. Many kings will Worship Him and Nations serve Him.
f)   Psalm 72:12. Our Lord and Saviour delivers:-
1-  The needy people who call to Him.
2-  The poor.
3-  The person who has no one to help them.
g)   Psalm 72:13. Our Lord and Saviour has pity on the weak and needy people and He saves the lives of needy people.
h)   Psalm 72:14. Our Lord and Saviour cares about the lives of the needy people. He:-
1-  Redeems their lives from oppression.
2-  Redeems their lives from violence.
3-  Calls them Precious in His Sight.
i)   Psalm 72:15. Our Lord and Saviour is the One Who answers Prayer and gives Blessing.
j)   Psalm 72:16. May there be abundance and flourishing in the Kingdom of our Lord and Saviour in every way.
k)   Psalm 72:17. Of our Lord and Saviour may it be said that:-
1-  His Name shall endure forever.
2-  People shall be Blessed in Him.
3-  All Nations will call Him the Blessed One.
l)   Psalm 72:18. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel Who alone does wondrous things.
m)   Psalm 72:19. Blessed be the Glorious Name of our Lord and Saviour forever. Let the whole Earth be filled with His Glory.
(Through this Second one I revere much My Lord And Saviour)
 -----------
Chris.
Our Lord and Saviour is the One Who answers Prayer and gives Blessing. This is very clear statement. There are a host of different ways in which He answers Prayer. There are also many ways in which He may Bless us. Because we are God’s Children we should not think that our Lord and Saviour answers Prayer in the same ways for everyone. His answers and Blessings are different for all of His People. Our Calling is to revere Him.

King Solomon's Wisdom!

e)    1 Kings 3:12-13. Was given to him by God.
f)    1 Kings 4:30; 10:23. Surpassed the Wisdom of all the kings of the East and Egypt.
g)    1 Kings 10:7. Was excellent.
(This QT reveals to me King Solomon’s Wisdom, given to him by God)
 ----------
‘All Glory To God.’
a)    Isaiah 42:8. All Glory belongs to God.
b)   Exodus 15:11. He is Glorious in Holiness.
c)    Psalm 86:12. We should Glorify His Name for evermore.
d)    Revelation 4:11. He is Worthy to receive Glory.
e)    2 Corinthians 9:13. Other True Believers will Glorify God because of our Obedience to Christ.
(This Second one causes me to proclaim: All Glory To God)
 ----------
Chris.
King Solomon’s Wisdom was great. The Bible, in the book of James, exhorts us to ask God for Wisdom. The Wisdom that comes from God is very pure and will always cause us to Glorify Him. God’s Wisdom is in accordance with His Word and very different from the Wisdom of the World system. We may frequently require God’s Wisdom, let us ask Him for it.

‘Overcoming Sin.’
Romans 6:2-23.
a)    Romans 6:2. We have died to sin, how can we longer live in it.
b)   Romans 6:3-5. We are Baptised so now we should live a new life.
c)    Romans 6:6. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
d)    Romans 6:7. When we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.
e)    Romans 6:8-9. Since we died with Christ we also know that we shall live with Him.
f)    Romans 6:10. Jesus died once to break the power of sin.
g)    Romans 6:11. So we also should consider ourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.
h)    Romans 6:12. We should not let sin control the way we live or give in to its desires.
i)     Romans 6:13. Our body is not for sinning but it is for doing correctly as we give ourselves to God.
j)    Romans 6:14. Sin is no longer our master we now live in the Freedom of God’s Grace.
k)    Romans 6:15. Grace does not mean that we can continue in sin.
l)     Romans 6:16-17. Now we can be Servants of God who wholeheartedly obey Him.
m)   Romans 6:18. We are free from sin so that we can live Righteously.
n)    Romans 6:19-22. We have to give ourselves to be slaves of Righteous living.
o)    Romans 6:21. We do not have to live in constant shame of our past.
p)    Romans 6:23. The wages of sin is death, but the free Gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(This Second one teaches me that in Christ I can be Overcoming Sin)
 ---------
Chris.
Sin is no longer our master if we are True Believers, we now live in the Freedom of God’s Grace. It is a mockery of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ if we continue to deliberately sin after becoming a New Creation in Christ. God gives us all the Power we may need to live a New Life in Christ but we need to avail ourselves of this Power from the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

 ---------
‘God’s People Are A Living Testimony.’
1 Peter 2:9-12.
a)    1 Peter 2:9. We are:-
1-A chosen race.
2-A royal priesthood.
3-A Holy Nation.
4-A People for God’s Own possession.
b)   1 Peter 2:9. We are to show forth the excellencies of Him Who has called us out of darkness into His Marvellous Light.
c)    1 Peter 2:10. We are God’s People who have obtained Mercy.
d)    1 Peter 2:11. As foreigners and pilgrims we are to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against our soul.
e)    1 Peter 2:12. We are to behave well so that when people see our good works they will Glorify God.
(This Second one teaches me God’s Plan for His People: God’s People Are A Living Testimony)
 ---------
Chris.
We are a people for God’s Own possession. This means that we no longer belong to ourselves, we belong to God. If this is the case then we should always seek His Will and not our own. God’s Will is always best and we should not try for or settle for anything less.

A Diligent But Disillusioned Leader!

‘A Diligent But Disillusioned Leader.’
Ecclesiastes 1:12-15.
a)     Ecclesiastes 1:12. This Leader was a Teacher and a King of God’s People.

f)     Ecclesiastes 1:14. This Leader found that everything was really meaningless, like chasing the wind.
g)    Ecclesiastes 1:15. This Leader’s experience was that what is wrong cannot be made right and that what is missing cannot be recovered.
(Through this QT I discover A Diligent But Disillusioned Leader)
 --------
‘We Need To See This.’
James 2:17.
a)     Faith by itself is not enough.
b)    Faith should produce good deeds.
c)     Faith that does not produce anything is dead and useless.
(Through this Second one I realise that I Need To See This)
 --------
Chris.
This Leader was a Teacher and a King of God’s People. I cannot agree with the Teaching that every “Christian” is a Leader, I cannot accept even that every True Believer is a Leader because Leadership is a gift from God. There are some Leaders who make themselves Leaders but do not have the Gift of Leadership and this can create so many problems amongst the people that they lead. Leadership is a gift from God and needs to be discerned in God’s People by those people who are already functioning as Leaders.

The Christian Life!

'The Christian Life.' a)  Deuteronomy 7:11. Keep the Word of  God. b)  Deuteronomy  7:12. Listen to the Word of God. c)  Deuteronomy...
