‘God Seeks A Pure Offering.’
Malachi 1:6-11.
a) Malachi 1:6. The priests were despising the Name of the Lord, even in the environment where sons honour their fathers and employees honour their employers. God was not being honoured by His Priests.
b) Malachi 1:7. The priests were offering polluted bread at the table of the Lord and they were so distanced from God that they did not even realise it. They were treating the Table of the Lord with contempt.
c) Malachi 1:8. The priests were offering offerings that were:-
1- Blind.
2- Lame.
3- Sick.
d) Malachi 1:8. God called these offerings evil and told His Priests that an employer would not accept such offerings from their employees.
e) Malachi 1:9. This was time for change – a time to seek God.
f) Malachi 1:10. God refused to accept the offerings of His Priests under such conditions. This was time for change.
g) Malachi 1:11. Even amongst the Gentiles God’s Name was Great and His Worship was to be continual and Pure. These Jewish priests were really lost.
(Through this Second one I can clearly see that God Seeks A Pure Offering)

Chris.
In the days of the Old Testament, if the offering used in Worship was sick then God was offended. The Cross changed all that. Jesus bore our sicknesses on the Cross. This means He took the shame of sickness to the Cross. By the Stripes of Jesus Christ there is Healing. That healing can come in many different ways. The Old Testament priests could not serve if they were sick or handicapped – but the Cross has changed all that. The shame of sickness is taken away. Now all His people may serve God, whether physically healthy or not.
