‘Blessed Followers And Servers.’

1 Peter 5:5-6.

a)       Younger men in the Church should follow the leadership of the Elder men.

b)       We are all to serve each other with humility.

c)       God resists proud people.

d)       God gives special benefits to those people who are humble.

e)       If we humble ourselves under the Mighty Hand of God.

f)        In His Good Time He will lift us up.

‘Words Of Blessing.’

Numbers 6:24-26.

a)       May the Lord:-

1-       Bless you.

2-      Protect you.

3-     Keep you.

b)       May the Lord’s Face radiate with Joy because of you and shine upon you.

c)       May the Lord be Gracious to you.

d)       May the Lord show you His Favour.

e)       May the Lord give you His Peace.

(In this Second one I thank God for Words Of Blessing)

Words of Blessing are so positive and powerful. I wonder if it is because of self-righteousness the very outwardly religious people cannot give, or are slow to give Words of Blessing. Our  Words of Blessing can encourage weak and suffering people. Words of Blessing are sometimes like a healing balm. Let us, as much as is possible, use Words of Blessing.

Healed, Forgiven And Blessed!

‘Healed Forgiven And Blessed.’

Isaiah 33:24.

a)       God’s People will no longer say that they are sick.

b)       God’s People will no longer say that they are helpless.

c)       God’s People will know that the Lord has forgiven their sins.

d)       God’s People will be Blessed by the Lord.

(Through this QT I understand that the Lord’s People can be Healed, Forgiven and Blessed)

‘Very Pleasant Unto The Lord.’

Exodus 29:18.

a)       The whole ram was to be burned on the Altar before the Lord.

b)       It was a burnt offering to the Lord.

c)       It was a sweet savour.

d)       An offering made by fire to the Lord.

e)       It was very pleasant to the Lord.

(Through this Second one I desire that my life be Very Pleasant Unto The Lord)

God’s People will know that the Lord has forgiven their sins. This is one of the evidences of salvation, it is assurance of forgiveness. For those people who have truly encountered the Lord as their Saviour should not need to be coaxed into Believing in God. If a person has truly come to God then God will convince and convict them. 

No One Condemned Her!

‘No One Condemned Her.’

John 8:11.

a)    The woman called Jesus “Lord” and told Him that no one had condemned her.

b)    Jesus told her that He did not condemn her.

c)     She was to go.

d)    She was to do wrong things and sin no  more.

(This QT is abundant Grace: No One Condemned Her)

‘Why Was The Law Made?’

Galatians 3:19.

a)    God gave it after He made the Promise.

b)    Because so many people were doing something wrong.

c)     They were committing transgressions.

d)    The Law was only to be in Power until the Son came.

e)     The Son (Jesus Christ) received Promises from the Father and was also the Promise of the Father.

f)     The Law had been handed down by the Angels with the Hand of a Mediator.

(This Second one helps answer my question: Why Was The Law Made)

She was to do wrong things and sin no more. Please note that Jesus did not treat this forgiven woman like a robot, as if a ‘do wrong’ switch had suddenly been switched off in her life. This was really not the case. The reality was that she encountered Jesus Christ and He forgave her sin and gave her a new start in life. She was still human, she still faced temptation but she had the Word of the Lord. “Go on your way and sin no more.”

The Shepherd Pastor's Reward!

‘The Shepherd Pastor’s Reward.’

1 Peter 5:2-4.

(I can see the difference here between a “shepherding” Pastor and a Teaching Pastor)

a)    1 Peter 5:2. The Shepherd Pastor needs to Shepherd the flock that they are amongst.

b)    1 Peter 5:2. The Shepherd Pastor should exercise oversight in the Church:-

1-    Not by compulsion.

2-    Willingly.

3-    In accordance with God.

4-    Not greedily.

5-    Eagerly.

c)     1 Peter 5:3. The Shepherd Pastor should not ‘lord it’ over those people under their care.

d)    1 Peter 5:3. They should be examples to the flock.

e)     1 Peter 5:4. Then when the Chief Shepherd is revealed the Shepherd Pastor will receive the unfading crown of Glory.

‘Keep The Light Burning.’

Exodus 27:21.

a)    This Light was to be in the tent of meeting outside the veil.

b)    The Light was to be kept in order from evening to morning before the Lord by Aaron and his sons.

c)     This was a lasting statute for the Children of Israel throughout their generations.

(This Second one encourages me to Keep The Light Burning)

Whatever Ministry we know that the Lord has called us to we should do eagerly. To be serving the Lord and yet complaining about what He wants us to do is really wrong. When we complain about what we know what God wants us to do we make ourselves dry spiritually. We also discourage other people from serving the Lord. Let us serve eagerly.

They Cannot Sail!

‘They Cannot Sail.’

Isaiah 33:23.

a)    Those who try to sail will be unable.

b)    Their lines are limp.

c)     Their mast is wobbly.

d)    Their sails are furled.

e)     The spoils in the hold will be shared amongst others.

f)     The lame people will come and take the plunder.

(This QT tells me of a crisis: They Cannot Sail)

‘A Reasonable Plea Rejected.’

Numbers 20:17.

a)    Moses and the people needed to pass through Edom.

b)    The Promises of Moses:-

1-    Let us cross through your land.

2-    We will not go through a field.

3-    We will not go through a vineyard.

4-    We will not drink water from a well.

5-    We will stick to the main road – the King’s Highway.

6-    We will not turn to the left or the right until we have left your territory.

c)     The people of Edom rejected this request.

(This Second one shows to me A Reasonable Plea Rejected)

A reasonable plea rejected. Most of us have had such an experience or experiences at various times in our life. We can feel that life is unfair if we face such issues. One thing is for sure – God knows about all these matters and surely in His Way and time He will act upon our behalf. Let us not be disheartened or bitter if our reasonable plea is rejected.

Good Partners!

‘Good Partners.’

Psalm 85:10.

a)       Steadfast and loyal love.

b)       Faithfulness.

c)       Will meet one another.

d)       Righteousness.

e)       Peace.

f)        Will kiss each other.

(This QT reveals to me Good Partners)

‘It Is Good To Have An Assistant.’

Exodus 24:13.

a)       Moses got up.

b)       His assistant, Joshua, was with him.

c)       Moses went up to the Mountain of God.

d)       Joshua was with him as his humble assistant.

(This Second one is a reminder to all Spiritual Leaders: It Is Good To Have An Assistant)

Righteousness is always a good partner for other good partners in our lives. This Righteousness is not self-righteousness, which God finds offensive. This Righteousness is imputed to us by God because our lives have been washed clean by the Blood of Jesus Christ. People who are truly Biblically Righteousness are very often good Messengers of Peace and Peacemakers.

How Apostle Peter Saw Himself!

‘How Apostle Peter Saw Himself.’

1 Peter 5:1.

a)       As a fellow Elder amongst Elders.

b)       As a Witness of the sufferings of Christ.

c)       As a sharer of the Glory that is going to be revealed.

d)       As an Exhorter.

(This QT reveals to me How Apostle Peter Saw Himself)

‘The Tent Of Assembly Outside The Camp.’

Exodus 33:7-10.

a)       Exodus 33:7. It was pitched by Moses, far away from the camp.

b)       Exodus 33:7. It was called the Tent of Assembly and all people who were seeking the Lord went to it.

c)      Exodus 33:8. When Moses went out to the Tent of Assembly all the people would rise and stand, each of them at their home tent door.

d)       Exodus 33:8. They would gaze at Moses until he had entered the Tent of Assembly.

e)       Exodus 33:9. When Moses entered the Tent of Assembly the column of cloud would descend and stand at the opening of the tent. The Lord would then speak with Moses.

f)        Exodus 33:10. All the people would see the column of cloud standing at the entrance of the tent. Then all the people would rise and then bow in Worship each at the opening of their home tent door.

(Through this Second one I learn more about The Tent Of Assembly Outside The Camp)

There are many things that we can learn from the lives of various Bible Characters. Here we read of Peter and he was following the Teachings of Jesus Christ. He was humble. Peter could have seen himself as someone important in the New Testament Church but he never did. He saw himself as a Servant of the Lord amongst others.

The Lord Will Save Us!

‘The Lord Will Save Us.’

Isaiah 33:22.

a)       The Lord is our Judge.

b)       The Lord is our Lawgiver.

c)       The Lord is our King.

d)       He will save us.

(This QT gives me the assurance that The Lord Will Save Me)

‘They Are Greater.’

Matthew 11:11.

a)       The greatest one born naturally is John the Baptist.

b)       But greater than John.

c)       Are all those people now in the Kingdom of Heaven.

(This Second one teaches me that They Are Greater)

The Lord is our Judge. This is a clear theme right through the Scriptures. The Lord is our Judge. In the earliest Teaching of His Disciples Jesus said that True Believers should not judge each other. With what judgement we judge other people we will be judged. The Lord is the Just Judge. Every decision He makes is perfect. Yes, the Lord is our Judge.

God The Lord Will Speak Peace!

‘God The Lord Will Speak Peace.’

Psalm 85:8.

a)    Let me hear.

b)    What God the Lord will speak.

c)    He will speak Peace to His People.

d)    To His Faithful ones.

e)    They turn to Him in their hearts.

f)     But let them not return to folly.

(This QT causes me to Rejoice: God The Lord Will Speak Peace)

‘God Can Strike His Enemies.’

Psalm 105:33.

a)    Their drink.

b)    Their fruit.

c)    Their trees – fruit and wood.

(This Second one reminds me that God Can Strike His Enemies)

God will speak Peace to His People. This is one of the clear Promises of God that winds its way through both the Old and New Testaments. God loves to give His People peace. When we are in Peace many other things go well in our lives. When we have no Peace our spirituality, our fellowship and our health all suffer.

Keep Going!

‘Keep Going.’

1 Peter 4:19.

a)    If we are suffering according to the Will of God.

b)    We should trust ourselves to our Faithful Creator.

c)    We should continue to do good.

(This QT encourages me to Keep Going)

‘All That He Needed To Do.’

Numbers 20:8.

a)    God told Moses to take his staff (rod).

b)    God told Moses to assemble the congregation.

c)    God told Moses to go with his brother Aaron and speak to the rock in front of the eyes of the people.

d)    The rock was going to give water.

e)    Then the community and livestock could drink.

(This Second one shows me All That He Needed To Do, but Moses failed because of his anger)

We should continue to do good. There are some people who do not understand our doing good. There are also some people who do not appreciate our doing good. These distractions should make us stop, pray and think about our doing good. Are we really doing the correct thing(s)? We should not however, give up doing good.
