The Festival Of Shelters!


‘The Festival Of Shelters.’
Leviticus 23:33-44.
a) Leviticus 23:33-34. Was held annually at a set time.
b) Leviticus 23:35. On the first day come to Worship and do no daily work.
c) Leviticus 23:36. There was to be daily Worship during the Festival.
d) Leviticus 23:37-38. All the Festivals of the Lord were to be in addition to the Sabbaths.
e) Leviticus 23:39; Deuteronomy 16:13. The harvest should be completed before the Festival of Shelters.
f) Leviticus 23:40. Begin with the best offerings and Honour the Lord.
g) Leviticus 23:41. This Festival was to be passed on from generation to generation.
h) Leviticus 23:42. It was to be kept regularly at the same time every year.
i) Leviticus 23:43. People were to come away from their homes and live in booths at that time.
j) Leviticus 23:44. People were to remember the Exodus from the land of Egypt at that time.

‘Galilee.’
a) John 7:9. Was a place that Jesus like to stay in.
b) Matthew 3:13. Jesus came from there to be Baptised.
c) Matthew 4:12; 15:29. Was a place that Jesus would withdraw to.
d) Matthew 4:18; Mark 1:16. Was the place where He called some of His Disciples.
e) Matthew 4:23; 11:1; Mark 1:39. Was a place where Jesus would minister.
f) Matthew 4:25; Mark 3:7. Many people followed Jesus from there.
g) Matthew 26:32; 28:7. It was the place that Jesus would go to after the Resurrection.
h) Mark 1:28. It was the place where Jesus first became famous.
i) Acts 9:31. The Church there became strong.
j) “Galilee”. Simply means region.
(This Second one teaches me how insignificant places can become important ones in the Lord’s Purposes: Galilee)

We should complete or work well whoever we are and whatever we work or study at. There was obviously a God given set time for the end of the work and the beginning of the Festival of Shelters. This means that there could have been some pressure on the people to finish their work on time before they could be ready for the Festival. God understands our pressures in life and, as we Trust Him He will surely help us.
