Joel
2:25-29.
a) The Background Situation.
1-Joel 1:2-4. It was an awful experience.
2-Joel 1:9. They had nothing to offer at the Temple.
For two reasons, the Priests were crying. One was spiritual - the condition for worship. Two was natural - they were hungry.
3-Joel 1:14-15; 2:12-17. It was a time for National repentance.
4-Joel 1:18 & 20. Even the animals and wild animals were suffering.
5-Joel 1:19. Lord, help us.
6-Joel 2:1. Sound the alarm.
7-Joel 2:6. Fear grips the people.
8-Joel 2:7-11. This was the Lord's army of locusts.
b) The Promise of God.
1-Joel 2:21-24. God's Love and Goodness for His People.
c) The Restoration.
1-Joel 2:25. God says I will Restore.
2-Joel 2:26-27. Never again will God's People be ashamed.
3-Joel 2:27. Our Immanuel, God with us.
4-Joel 2:28-29. The Promise of the Holy Spirit.

Let us pray for our nation to be restored before the Lord. As we come to His presence and trust the Lord's promise, surely He will help the nations to be rebuilt and restored for His purpose and glory through the power of the Holy Spirit.
