Going By Faith

 

Going By Faith.’

a)  Acts 20:22. The Holy Spirit is compelling me to go to Jerusalem, but I do not know what is going to happen there.

b)   James 4:13-15. The right attitude to going by Faith.

c)   Proverbs 27:1. We are not to boast of tomorrow.

d)   Isaiah 55:8-12. Follow God’s Way, then we can go out with Joy.

(This QT teaches me a further meaning of Going By Faith)

‘John The Baptist.’

a)   Matthew 11:1-2. When he was in prison he heard about the ministry of Jesus Christ.

b)   Matthew 11:2-3. John sent two of his disciples to establish that Christ was the Messiah and the Saviour of the World.

c)   Matthew 11:4-6. Jesus sent John’s disciples back to Him with this message:-

1-  Tell the things which you hear and see.

2-  The blind people receive their sight.

3-  The lame people walk.

4-  The lepers are cleansed.

5-  The deaf people hear.

6-  The dead are raised up.

7-  The poor people have the Gospel preached to them.

8-  Blessed is the person who finds no occasion for stumbling in Christ.

d)   Matthew 11:7-10. Jesus Christ affirms the ministry of John the Baptist.

e)   Matthew 11:11. Among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.

f)   Isaiah 40:3. His ministry was prophesied about.

g)   Luke 1:80. He was strong spiritually.

h)   Matthew 3:1-4. He was a simple man:-

1-  His Message was simple.

2-  His clothes were simple.

3-  His food was simple.

i)   Matthew 14:4. He was an uncompromising messenger of Truth.

j)   John 1:19-37; 3:22-30. He continually pointed the way to Jesus Christ the Lamb of God.

(This Second one reminds me of the important ministry and example of John The Baptist)

We need to endeavour to be strong spiritually. God’s ways of making us strong are quite unique. Firstly, He says that His Joy will make us strong spiritually. We should ask God to give us that Joy. Secondly, His Words tells us that when we are weak that is the time when we can be spiritually strong. Thirdly, God gives us His Holy Spirit to give us strength in our inner man – this is spiritual strength.
