Proverbs 20:18-19.
a) Listen to people who give good counsel and advice.
b) Listen to people who give wise guidance.
c) Do not listen to gossips and talebearers.
d) Do not listen to people who talk too much and babble on.

We need to always be careful who we listen to and what we listen to. Some people delight in saying things that are really helpful to us. Some people talk in pure and wholesome ways. Surely we can listen to such people. There are other people who are gossips and talebearers. If we listen to these talebearers there is a great danger of us becoming corrupted by the things that they talk about. We need to avoid listening to these people.
