Zion - A Lovely And Safe Place!

‘Zion - A Lovely And Safe Place.’

Isaiah 33:21.

a)    The Lord in Majesty will be there.

b)    The Lord in Might will be there.

c)    It is a place of broad rivers and streams.

d)    Large galley boats cannot enter it.

e)    Mighty and stately ships cannot go through it.

(This QT shows me Zion – A Lovely And Safe Place)

‘Desperate Intercessors.’

Numbers 16:43-45.

a)    Numbers 16:43. Moses and Aaron came into the Presence of the Lord.

b)    Numbers 16:44. The Lord spoke to Moses.

c)    Numbers 16:45. Moses and Aaron were to get away from God’s People. God was going to consume His People in a moment. Moses and Aaron fell on their faces as humble and desperate intercessors.

(This Second one teaches me about the hearts of Desperate Intercessors)

Zion is a place of broad rivers and streams. These speak to me about Peace and Calm. Recently we went to visit Loch Ness (the place where the monster is supposed to be). Although the weather was a little wet with fine rain and damp, the place was so peaceful. My mind was captured by the beauty and the calm. Zion will be much better even than this!

God Did It!

‘God Did It.’

Psalm 78:13.

a)       God split and divided the sea.

b)      God led His People through and caused them to go over.

c)       God made the waters stand up like walls.

(Through this QT I know that God Did It)

‘She Delayed Everyone.’

Numbers 12:15.

a)       Miriam complained against Moses and his leadership.

b)      God gave Miriam leprosy.

c)       By Law Miriam had to go out of the camp for seven days.

d)      The People of God could not travel until Miriam came back in again.

e)       Miriam delayed everyone.

(This Second one reveals to me that She Delayed Everyone)

Chris.

When God leads His People He always leads them into victory. He also leads them safely in every environment, there may sometimes be exceptions but these are also from God who will be Glorified in the final outcome. Sometimes there seems to be a delay in God’s Leading, there is always a reason and a purpose.

For Consideration!

‘For Consideration.’

1 Peter 4:18.

a)       If it is hard for a person who is right with God to be Saved.

b)      What will happen to the sinner?

c)       What will happen to the ungodly.

(This QT: For Consideration, challenges my Prayer life)

‘The Priests’ Ministry Must Be Pure.’

Numbers 3:4.

a)       Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord.

b)      They made a strange fire that was not Holy to the Lord.

c)       It took place in the Desert of Sinai.

d)      They both died childless.

e)       Eleazar and served as Priests during the time of their father Aaron.

(This Second one reminds me that The Priests’ Ministry Must Be Pure)

What will happen to the sinners when they die? I am not going deeply into a Bible Study about this question here. It is enough to say that they will be eternally separated from God. The Message of the Gospel is enough to Save sinners from that eternal separation. Evangelism that is with and in the Holy Spirit and that is bathed in Prayer is effective. 

Jerusalem - A Quiet And Undisturbed Home!

‘Jerusalem – A Quiet And Undisturbed Home.’

Isaiah 33:20.

a)       Zion was the City of appointed feasts.

b)      Jerusalem shall be seen as a quiet home.

c)       It will become an undisturbed settlement.

d)      It will become a Tabernacle that will not be taken down.

e)       No one will remove its stakes or cut its cords.

(This QT reveals to me Jerusalem – A Quiet And Undisturbed Home)

‘The Remaining Parts Of The Offering.’

Leviticus 10:12.

a)       Moses spoke here to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar.

b)      They were to take the remainder of the grain offering from what was left of the people’s offerings to the Lord.

c)       They were to eat it without leaven beside the altar.

d)      This grain offering was a holiness of holinesses.

(This Second one reminds me that The Remaining Parts Of The Offering were to be given to the highest priests in order for them to partake in this Holy Offering)

God is not a temporary-minded God! When God really does or says something it is not usually changed. There are a few exceptions but generally what God does is forever. We can find this very trustworthy aspect of the Character of God in both the Old and New Testaments. Trust God – it is the best thing to do.

Do Not Forget!

‘Do Not Forget.’

Psalm 78:11.

a)    God’s People forgot His Deeds.

b)    God’s People forgot what God had done.

c)    They also forgot His Wonders that He Had shown them.

(This QT clearly reminds me: Do Not Forget)

Hebrews 5:4.

a)    We should never take the honour of Spiritual Ministry position upon ourselves.

b)    We receive it only when we are called by God.

c)    Look at the example of Aaron.

(Through this Second one I fully understand that They Are Called By God)

We can, for a host of reasons, sometimes forget. God here, however clearly said to His People that they were not to forget – but they forgot. We need to learn to remember things that we need to remember well. It may help us to carry a little note book around.

It Begins With God's Household!

1 Peter 4:17.

a)    It is time already for Judgment to begin at God’s Household.

b)    It begins with us.

c)    We should consider this.

d)   What will the outcome be for those people who do not obey the Gospel of God?

a)    The Lord was angry.

b)    Angry enough with Aaron that He wanted to kill him.

c)    But at that time Moses Prayed for him.

Judgement begins with God’s Household. It seems to be a theme in both the Old and New Testaments. The Word of God exhorts us many times to have the Fear of the Lord. When the Church begins to compromise with the World system, it puts itself in an exposed circumstance which may cause it to face the Judgment of God. 

We Will Not See Them Any More!

‘We Will Not See Them Any More.’

Isaiah 33:18-19.

a)    We will think about what and who used to terrify us.

b)    We will say to ourselves: “Where have they gone.”

c)    “Where is the one who forced us to give gifts to his king.”

d)   “Where is the officer in charge of the towers that were used when we were attacked?”

e)     “We will not see these proud people anymore.”

f)     “We just could not understand them.”

(This QT causes me to thank God much that I Will Not See Them Any more)

Exodus 32:28.

a)    The Sons of Levi, the Levitical Priesthood.

b)    They did according to the word of Moses.

c)    About three thousand people died that day.

(This Second one reminds me that Obedience Is Simple But Sometimes Hard)

We will think about what and who used to terrify us and then, as God’s Redeemed Children, we can Thank Him and Praise Him that those things or people have gone or are in the process of going.  There is absolutely no need to be terrified any more.

How Can We Forget?

a)      This is written about God’s People.

b)      They had forgotten what the Lord had done.

c)      They had forgotten the Wonders that He had shown them.

d)     They had forgotten the amazing things that He had shown them.

Exodus 32:21.

a)      Aaron had listened to the people and not the Lord.

b)      Aaron, at this time was a weak leader, a people pleaser.

c)      Moses confronted Aaron.

d)     Moses first asked what evil the people had done.

e)      Because Aaron brought upon them such a great sin. (Idolatry coupled with lawlessness and immorality)

There are so many things written about God’s People in the Bible. Really we have no excuse about understanding God’s Ways laid out for us. The Word of God is a Living Word. We should never ‘use’ the Bible to suit our needs. The Bible is God’s Word to and for us. Let us not be too excited about Spiritual Gifts, especially if we are not yet excited about the Bible.

If We Suffer As A Christian!

1 Peter 4:16.

a)      We should not be ashamed.

b)      We should Glorify God.

c)      Because we bear His Name.

(This QT teaches me how to respond If I Suffer As A Christian)

a)      Originates from human standards of what is precious. (Gold)

b)      Is made by humans.

c)      Is often shaped into a recognisable object.

d)     Is deceptive, ensnaring anyone who believes in it.

e)      Is  simply a lie

(This Second one shows me how deceptive A Hand Made God Is)

Sometimes we value what is precious in the World’s eyes more than we value the Presence of God. If we do this we tend to take the Presence of God for granted, especially in our homes. We value highly the Worldly things in our homes but have little time for God.

We Will See The King!

‘We Will See The King.’

Isaiah 33:17.

a)    Your eyes will see the King.

b)    The King will be in His Beauty.

c)    Isaiah 6:5. To see the King is a life changing experience.

d)   Isaiah 26:15. Your eyes will see a far distant land.

a)    Joshua did as Moses told him.

b)    Joshua went out to fight Amalek.

c)    To the top of the hill went:-

e)    They went there to intercede.

Chris.

To see the King is a life changing experience. If we really encounter the Lord in some way that kind of experience is usually a positive life-changing one. This kind of encounter is a Sovereign Work of God’s Grace, Love and Power. It is not something that we seek. We should seek to follow and obey the Lord our King.

A Vision For The Next Generation!

‘A Vision For The Next Generation.’

Judges 2:10.

a)    It is important that this generation of True Believers do not treat the next generation in a passive manner.

b)    This generation will pass on.

c)    Spiritually, what have we done for the next generation?

d)   If we do nothing then they will grow up not knowing the Lord.

e)    They will grow up not knowing the Lord’s Works.

(This QT convinces me that we need A Vision For The Next Generation)

‘Being Delegated Is Not Always Easy.’

Exodus 16:9.

a)    Moses delegated Aaron for a difficult task.

b)    Aaron was to speak to the whole Community of the Israelites.

c)    Aaron was to call them into the Presence of the Lord.

d)   The Lord had heard His People grumbling and complaining.

(This Second one reminds me that Being Delegated Is Not Always Easy)

The way that this generation of True Believers respond to the next generation needs to be really very different. The mental concepts of the new generations are very different. They would never have been thought of even just 15 years ago. There is a totally new generation and mind-set that needs to be loved and accepted for what it is before it can be changed in any way to conform to the Image of Christ. 

What True Believers Should Not Be!

a)    Murderers.

b)    Thieves.

c)    Evil Doers.

d)   Meddlers in the affairs of other people.

To muse is to consider something thoughtfully. It is a very profitable exercise for the True Believers mind. In some situations we think too little for too short a time. To muse is an important part of our real Faith Life. Muse on the Words of God. Muse on the Character of God. Muse on the Works of God.
