‘The Spirit We Have Received.’

Romans 8:15.

a)  It is not a Spirit of Bondage Again to Fear.

i)        1 John 4:18. Perfect Love Takes Away All Fear.

ii)     Hebrews 2:14-15. No More Fear of Dying.

iii)   2 Timothy 1:7. Is a Spirit of: Power, Love, and Self-Discipline.

iv)    1 Corinthians 2:12. It is for us to know the Wonderful Things that God has given to us.

v)      Galatians 5:22-23. It is a Spirit that Makes Us Fruitful.

b)  It is a Spirit of Adoption

i)          Romans 8:16. Teaching us that we are God’s children.

ii)       Isaiah 56:5. Gives us the everlasting names.

iii)    Galatians 4:5-7. The Freedom God gives us:

a.       v 5. Adopted as His Very Own Children.

b.      v. 6. God sent the Spirit of His Son into our Hearts. 

c.       v. 6. Now we can call God, ‘Abba Father.’

d.      v. 7. Now we are God’s own Children.

e.       v. 7. Everything He has belongs to us.

iv)     Ephesians 1:5. It is God’s Unchanging Plan and Great Pleasure to Adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Christ Jesus.

v)       Ephesians 1:11-14. Praising God because: -

a.       v. 11. Because of Christ, we have received an Inheritance from God.

b.      v. 11. God chose us from the beginning.

c.       v. 12. God’s purpose for us to trust in Christ and to praise God.

d.      v. 13. We have heard the Truth: The Good News that God Saves Us.

e.       v. 13. When we believed in Christ, He identified us as His own by giving us the Holy Spirit.

f.         v. 14. The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee that He will give us everything He promised and that He has purchased us to be His Own People.

c) Bringing Us into Intimacy with the Father God.

i)          Luke 11:2. To That We Can Pray to Him.

ii)       Luke 22:42. To Empower Us to Do His Will.

iii)    John 20:17. So That We Can Take His Message to Others.

iv)     Romans 5:5. Experiencing His Love in Our Hearts.

v)       1 John 3:1-3. So that We Anticipate Seeing Jesus One Day and Keeping our Life Pure.

a)       Ephesians 1:5. That Through Jesus Christ We Are Adopted as God’s Children.

b)      Ephesians 1:9. That the Plan He Designed Long Ago, which is Centred on Christ, Be Revealed to Us.

c)       Philippians 2:13. God is Working in Us, Giving Us the Desire to Obey Him and The Power to Do What is Pleasing to Him.

a)  Psalm 40:11. To preserve us. The Lord Gives Us: Compassion, Lovingkindness, Truth.

b)  Psalm 23:6. His Goodness and Unfailing Love will pursue us all the Days of Our Lives.

c)   Psalm 43:3. His Light and His Truth will guide us and lead us.

d)  Psalm 57:3. God will send forth His Unfailing Love and Faithfulness to Save and to Rescue  us.

e)   Psalm 61:7. God appoints His unfailing love and faithfulness to watch over us.

e)    2 Timothy 4:17. Emmanuel, standing with us and giving us strength that we might preach the Gospel in all its fullness.

        iii) Deuteronomy 33:28. It Brings: - Safety; Prosperity; Security.

        iv) Psalm 65:9. It is Ordred By God. 

b)       Fatness of Earth Blessing.

        i) Genesis 27:39. It Produces Enough to Live Off.

        ii) Genesis 45:18. It is the Very Best. 

        iii) Genesis 49:20. It Produces Fit for Kings.

        iv) Psalm 36:8. It Comes from the Abundance of God’s House.

c)       Plenty of Corn and Wine Blessing. 

        i) Deuteronomy 7:13. It is a Sign of His love, Blessing, and Multiplication.

        ii) Deuteronomy 8:7-9. Where Everything is Plentiful, Nothing is Lacking.

        iii) Joshua 5:6. It Comes as a Result of Obedience.

        iv) Psalm 104:15. It is Good for Our Joy, Skin and Strength.

d)       Nations Blessing. 

        i) Genesis 22:17. Conquering the Nations.

        ii) Genesis 22:18. For All the Nations of the Earth.

        iii) Genesis 49:10. It heralds Jesus, and the Nation will obey Him.

        iv) Isaiah 9:7. Christ, Ever Expanding His Powerful Government Will Never                             End.

e)       Leadership Blessing.

i) Hebrews 2:10. Jesus is the Perfect Leader.

ii)  John 7:50. Leaders Submit to Jesus, the Perfect Leader.

iii) Luke 22:26. True Leaders have Servant Hearts.

iv) Habakuk 1:14. Leaders are to Defend Their People.

f)         For those who bless us, Blessing.

i) Genesis 12:3. Going to All the Families of the Earth.

ii) Numbers 22:12. We cannot curse whom God has blessed.

iii) Matthew 25:40. When we bless others, then we bless Jesus.

iv) Malachi 3:10. That brings satisfaction.

We Should Live a New Life

'We Should Live A New Life.'

a) Romans 6:4. Because we are being buried with Christ through Baptism.

b) Romans 6:19. As we yield our bodies to Righteousness for Sanctification.

c) Romans 7:6. As we Serve in the New life of the Holy Spirit.

d) Romans 12:1. Because we present our bodies to God:-

i) As a living sacrifice.

ii) Holy.

iii) Acceptable to God.

e) Romans 13:13. Because we conduct ourselves becomingly.

f) Romans 13:14. Because we put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh.

g) 2 Corinthians 5:17. Because, if anyone is in Christ:-

i) He is a New Creation.

ii) The old has passed away.

iii) Behold, the new has come.

h) Galatians 6:15. Because only a New Creation counts for anything.

i) Ephesians 4:22-24. God's Process:-

i) Put off the old.

ii) Be Renewed in your thinking mind.

iii) Put on the new.

j) Ephesians 5:8. Because we are now Light in the Lord.

k) Colossians 1:10-12. The New Life is:-

i) v10. A Life worthy of the Lord.

ii) v10. A Life fully pleasing to the Lord.

iii) v10. A Life bearing fruit in every good work.

iv) v10. A Life increasing in the Knowledge of God.

v) v11. A Life strengthened with all power, according to God's Glorious Might, for all:-

A-Endurance.

B-Patience.

C-Joy.

vi) v12. A Life of Giving Thanks to the Father.

l) Colossians 3:10. Because we have put on a new nature.

m) 1 Peter 4:2. Because we Live by the Will of God.

n) 2 Peter 1:4. Because we are partaking God's Great Promises and therefore, also of His Divine Nature.

o) 1 John 2:6. Because we say that we abide in Christ.

i) The old former way.

ii) Deception.

iii) Disobedience.

c) Isaiah 65:10. Into a Place of Peace and Fulfillment for those people who have Active Faith.

d) Hosea 2:15. Into a Place of Hope.
