Chris.

Our attitude when in front of the Word of God must be humility and being teachable. If we lose this attitude, then we are in spiritual danger. I meet some people today who are so strongly opinionated about God’s Word bur they are not humble or teachable. My heart is sad when I meet such people, especially in Church or in Mission organisation.

I hope and pray that all people who read this will be people who grow to love God’s Word, the Bible. God’s primary way of speaking to His Children is through His Word. We should not just read it as a religious habit, rather, when we read it we should also think about it, investigate it and study it. The Bible is God’s Word.

(This Second one teaches me in reality who are God’s Pure People)

--------------------------------------------------------------

Chris.

Three things mentioned here that God really wants His People to be clean from. The first is idolatry, an idol is anything that comes between us and God and hinders our Worship. The second is false prophecies, these abound in the Church today, they are not God’s “new thing” rather they are a wounding influence to the Church and offensive to God. The third is evil spirits. God’s People should be free from evil spirits, Jesus gives us authority over evil spirits and the first ones we need to deal with are the ones which would harm or attack us in some way.

(Through this QT I understand that God wants to help us when we are In Weakness)

 -------------------------------------------

‘God Does Everything Well.’

a)  James 1:17. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

b)  Acts 9:32-35. Now as Peter was traveling through all those regions, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.  There he found a man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years, for he was paralyzed. Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; get up and make your bed." Immediately he got up. And all who lived at Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.

c)  Acts 9:36. He makes good people too! Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated in Greek is called Dorcas); this woman was abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did.

d)  Acts 9:37-43. And it happened at that time that she fell sick and died; and when they had washed her body, they laid it in an upper room. Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him, imploring him, "Do not delay in coming to us." So Peter arose and went with them. When he arrived, they brought him into the upper room; and all the widows stood beside him, weeping and showing all the tunics and garments that Dorcas used to make while she was with them. But Peter sent them all out and knelt down and prayed, and turning to the body, he said, "Tabitha, arise." And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. And he gave her his hand and raised her up; and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive. It became known all over Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. And Peter stayed many days in Joppa with a tanner named Simon.

e)  Matthew 28:19-20. His Plan for Mission, “Go”. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

f)  Acts 10:1-2. He puts good people in positions of authority. Now there was a man at Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian cohort (leader of 100 soldiers), a devout man and one who feared God with all his household and gave many alms to the Jewish people and prayed to God continually.

g)  Acts 10:3-6. He leads us by the Holy Spirit. About the ninth hour of the day he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who had just come in and said to him, "Cornelius!"  And fixing his gaze on him and being much alarmed, he said, "What is it, Lord?" And he said to him, "Your prayers and alms have ascended as a memorial before God. Now dispatch some men to Joppa and send for a man named Simon, who is also called Peter; he is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house is by the sea.”

h) Acts 10:7-23. He works everything out. When the angel who was speaking to him had left, he summoned two of his servants and a devout soldier of those who were his personal attendants, and after he had explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa. On the next day, as they were on their way and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. But he became hungry and was desiring to eat; but while they were making preparations, he fell into a trance; and he saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground, and there were in it all kinds of four-footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the air. A voice came to him, "get up, Peter, kill and eat!" but Peter said, "by no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean." Again a voice came to him a second time, "what God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy."  This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into the sky. Now while Peter was greatly perplexed in mind as to what the vision which he had seen might be, behold, the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions for Simon's house, appeared at the gate; and calling out, they were asking whether Simon, who was also called Peter, was staying there. While Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him, "behold, three men are looking for you, but get up, go downstairs and accompany them without misgivings, for i have sent them myself."  Peter went down to the men and said, "Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason for which you have come?"  They said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, was divinely directed by a Holy Angel to send for you to come to his house and hear a message from you."  So he invited them in and gave them lodging. And on the next day he got up and went away with them, and some of the brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

(This Second one reminds me that God Does Everything Well)

-------------------------------------------------------

Chris.

There are times that God calls us to exercise bold Faith. For most of us those times are quite infrequent. Yet, if God gives us such a call, we should be willing to obey Him. Without Faith, the Bible says, it is impossible to please God, and sometimes the calling is for us to exercise bold Faith. As we respond to the Lord in this way we discover that our Faith actually grows.
